mrmike Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 In issue #225 of Model Cars Magazine, Tim Boyd presented us with his version of a Day Two Car, the 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. I have modified the '69 Barracuda into a 1968 by removing the peak on the nose of the car and painting the rear taillights. I kitbashed a correct interior with parts from the '68 Hemi Dart and a 383 from the '69 Dodge Dart GTS. The interior is white with black accents and the body is painted with Testors Bright Calypso Metallic. The wheels and tires are Pegasus Shuey's. 11
DJMar Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Very nice bit of conversion work! My 1:1 '68 notchback approves.
Zippi Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 I like the body style on the old Plymouth Barracuda. Nicely done Mike.
espo Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Great looking paint finish and color. The wheels almost remind one of the failed factory alloys offered at the time, they were very porous and wouldn't hold air with tubeless tires.
Chuckyg1 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Good looking model. The color suits well. Very nice.
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Love these ‘Cudas! Great looking color and wheels!
XYHARRY Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Really nice Barracuda, well done Mike. Cheers, David. ??
mrmike Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 Thank you everyone! My displaying this model is not to put down Tim Boyd's '69 Barracuda, but to show how this Barracuda can be built if one doesn't want a '69 Barracuda. I love the '68s without the peak on the hood. After viewing Tim's Barracuda, I want to build a '69!
