Revell still can't get the tail strip right ,it should have a "V" shape in the meddle of it . I was hoping they would have fixed it !

Hmm, see they've skipped the black fields for the HEMI hood billboards this time.  Makes a bit of sense, because even with a firehose application of solvent, a bit of bunching was inevitable at the corners.

The model does appreciate a substitution of 'Cuda Rallyes and lettered tires...

Stock version appears later in this thread, if you want more details about the kit:

Taking a page from the MPC playbook with the typography on the cover!  Looks good, will be a great one to build.

Not sure if anyone else remembers Tim Boyd's SA (or was it MCM?) article on building this kit and the few mods needed to get everything all lined up - I recall moving the rear axle, for example.

If that rings a bell and you can post the Volume and Issue date, that would be great!

I guess if you have a bottle of Panther Pink laying around this is the kit to use it on!

I still have a few of the old Model Master spray bombs of the stuff. I was planning on testing one out on a Monogram '70 Challenger TA kit I'm building.

Is there such a thing as having too many FM3 Mopars on your shelf?

I wish I knew about that article. No wonder my 68 looked kinda weird. Rear track seemed narrow too

Heh.  I actually decided on the color just as the black F&F version debuted, with all its signs that a street R/T was coming.  Was not overjoyed about Revell doing it on the first boxcover car, but I had a different interior color and graphic scheme in mind anyway, and they supplied Hemi hood billboards not used on the cover so it was all good. Even kept the Round2 tires and street wheels from the Sox & Martin 'Cuda on standby in case Revell didn't change from the Magnums, months ahead of the R/T's release.

Engines are strictly Hemi at this point.  You can source that lovely 440 from the '68/'69; just bear in mind you'll need to do some minor work on the engine block tabs that slot into the engine mounts - staggered forward and back on the '68/'69, straight across on the '70.

Really wish they had the rallye wheels in this kit, glad they improved the decal sheet. I'll definitely pick up several, 1970 is my favorite year.

Can't one just use the complete chassis from the '68'69?

Wondering

While I can't speak to the workings of this swap/bash, I do know that - for whatever reason - the Revell 1968-1969 Chargers are unique from their 1970 offerings.
