NOBLNG Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Can anyone post pictures of the instructions for this kit? I found them on Fotki, but they are chopped up, out of order, and I think missing sections? Thanks in advance, Greg.?
Exotics_Builder Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 (edited) These are the instructions plus 2 additional sheets in the box. Edited October 3, 2024 by Exotics_Builder
rattle can man Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Scalemates has the instructions for the release after the Prestige. Just search instructions for Corvair and scroll down.

I have parts that are not shown on the Fotki site, so I’m not sure what I have and don’t have. Edit: I have a complete kit and it is apparently identical to the next release.? Parts for the “145” engine and ”Spyder” option are not included in either of these two kits. Edited October 3, 2024 by NOBLNG 1

Thankfully my kit is not missing any parts.? Edited October 3, 2024 by NOBLNG

Maybe that set refers to the Parts Pack Corvair Engine?

Maybe that set refers to the Parts Pack Corvair Engine? Possible? The instructions you posted are for a 1968 Corvair, but mine is sold as a 1969….but the kit number is the same 6773. If there were any changes you would think they’d give it a different number.? The 2005 release is just a rebox (different number though) as the instructions are identical to the parts I have in the box.
Exotics_Builder Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Interesting, I never looked at the year on the instructions, just took it out of the box. This is the kit I have (should be original). The instruction sheet number on mine does not match the one you got from Scalemates. I don't have an original 68 to compare to but do have a 67 and 68
rattle can man Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 I did not notice instructions for the Prestige edition, just the follow-on release with the gray car box. try looking at the other previous releases for instructions. I do have an annual release somewhere in my stash. It had the Yenko Stinger optional build along with some custom parts.

The 099-38159 instruction sheet I posted above is from scalemates for the gray car box. The parts match the yellow prestige edition exactly. Thanks for that hint Harry. The prestige edition also contains a display stand.

Odd that your kit instructions are for a prestige kit, but call it a 1968. The Scalemates 099-38159 instructions match yours, but do not show the display stand.

TarheelRick Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Can also be found here, and they have most of the kits from '64 and up. AMT 1969 Corvair #099-38159 album | DRASTIC PLASTICS MODEL CAR CLUB | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
Exotics_Builder Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I know you said you were okay, but I was curious, so I checked the box contents of the Prestige kit. Apparently at some point, I stored the Parts Pack engine in it since it had the Turbo and the "145 engine" instructions ARE for the Parts Pack. Everything in the regular instructions say 1968 but box says 1969. It has a 1988 date on the box (my other prestige kits have 1987 and 1988 dates as well). That maps with ERTL ownerdhip. I also looked at the 66 and 67 kits and they both come with the turbo as an option. But not the prestige kit. 1
