Model Builders Mafia Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 This was a very fun build with very few challenges The kit started as the AMT Chevy 1500 dually snap-together kit, The body on the bag was off eBay I scratch-built the ladder rack and the front and rear bumpers to give it that get-out of my way I'm working here look. The interior is where I had all the fun and decided to add all kinds of details including a New York Yankees head even though I'm a Met fan, cooler boots magazines tons of paperwork flashlights, and all the things you need in a work truck plus of course this being New York you can't not have a pizza. The Staten Island ferry and DOT decals are from round2 decal sheet the orange is straight out of the can from Tamya. The black hood was done to make it look like this truck has gone through a tough life and a replacement hood was needed but painting it was pointless so flat black it is. I'm pretty sure that they would not use the vector bar but I actually really like the look of them. 8
iamsuperdan Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 I like it! The outdoor lighting is so much better than anything indoors. And in some of those pics, it looks much large that 1/24. I think the angle of the pic and forced perspective. Anyway, nice work!
ncbuckeye67 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Wow, talk about going down the "rabbit hole" of super-detailing! Excellent build!
espo Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 So many great details everywhere you look on this build. These pictures need to be studied for a time to realize everything here. I see that the work crews aren't required to keep up the interior on their rigs. Who would have thought they would have pizza for lunch in New York.
Model Builders Mafia Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Thank you everyone for the comments, For those interested in the interior detail here are some shots before I put it in the truck.. 3

peteski Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Excellent modeling! I love the clutter in the cab. Looks super realistic. You have an excellent eye for replicating details.
