1959 El Camino

Finally a completed build. Only been a year or so. 1959 Chevy El Camino. Broke the tailgate hinges. Just like I break the hinges on doors and trunks.

Regarding the hinges  - I gave up on them and just glue doors and such closed. Unless you're building a contest model, is that feature really important?

I never enter shows as my builds are what they call 10 footers in the 1.1 world. LOL Those wheels came with the kit Tim. It was the 1997 kit which according to the box was made from the original molds?  I'm not sure where I got the tires.

Cool El Camino.  Looks good in light blue/white.  I might use that color combo on my 1959 Chevy wagon build.

The completed kit still looks great, considering how old the molds are. Nice one! ?

Beautiful looking paint finishes and color combination. The chrome trim is all cleanly done, not easy with the lightly done molding on this kit body.

Dang that’s nice! Your photos using the garage dio can really fool one’s eyes, if I saw these pics anywhere other than this forum, I would have assumed they were pics of an actual 1:1 El Camino. Great job!
