ewetwo Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Finally a completed build. Only been a year or so. 1959 Chevy El Camino. Broke the tailgate hinges. Just like I break the hinges on doors and trunks. 15
Falcon Ranchero Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 That’s super noice, man. Love the first year Elcamino ?
lordairgtar Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Really good looking for how old the tooling is.
karbuildr Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Very nice build. I really like the two tone colors.
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 The subtle colors give it a very realistic look. Nice job. Great build.
2doors3pedals Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Beautiful El Camino! Nice to see a stock version for a change. Regarding the hinges - I gave up on them and just glue doors and such closed. Unless you're building a contest model, is that feature really important? Your build inspires me to move mine up the "next one" list. Nice work.
Hoffman Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 David, that looks fantastic! Are those 1/24 wheels and tires from Monogram? Nice upgrade.
ewetwo Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Thank you Guido, Nathan, Gregory, Glen, David, Keith, Donato, Dave, James, and Tim. I agree Dave. Mine just. go in a display. I never enter shows as my builds are what they call 10 footers in the 1.1 world. LOL Those wheels came with the kit Tim. It was the 1997 kit which according to the box was made from the original molds? I'm not sure where I got the tires.
Deathgoblin Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Beautiful job! I've got one of these, gonna have to build it soon.
carrucha Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) Cool El Camino. Looks good in light blue/white. I might use that color combo on my 1959 Chevy wagon build. Edited October 8, 2024 by carrucha
DJMar Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 That is one tasty El Camino! That blue & white scheme is hard to beat. The completed kit still looks great, considering how old the molds are. Nice one! ?
espo Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Beautiful looking paint finishes and color combination. The chrome trim is all cleanly done, not easy with the lightly done molding on this kit body.
papajohn97 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) Dang that’s nice! Your photos using the garage dio can really fool one’s eyes, if I saw these pics anywhere other than this forum, I would have assumed they were pics of an actual 1:1 El Camino. Great job! Zippi Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I'm liking it. That baby blue and white go together really nice. Good looking 59 Chevy El Camino.
TransAmMike Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Really good looking '57 ya got there David. Great job?
Bainford Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Nice looking El Camino. Looks good in the soft colours.
ewetwo Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Thank you Eric, Brian, Bill, Hector, DJ Mar, Jeff, David, John, Bob, Mike, And Trevor. Love to see the 59 Wagon done Hector.
