AMT 1955 Chevrolet Stepside Pickup WIP

Recommended Posts

Refurbish and repair on vent wing windows. This time I added some silver paint for the frame, and a little handle. Glued back in with a spot of tacky glue, then flowed a bit of canopy glue. Hope this holds for a while.IMG_6723.thumb.JPG.87cb2af3b233740fee0507c41df7ab36.JPG

Looks great so far. Attention Round2. Please reissue this kit!

Yes please on the reissue. '55 or '57, it doesn't matter. ??

They could actually spruce this one up with some different wheels & tires, and maybe some new engine goodies.

It would make a perfect addition to the current custom cruisers series.

I would really like to see a '57 Chevy Pickup.  I think the last reissue was back in the '90's.  Plenty of reissues of the '55, but not the '57.

IIRC, the '57 Stepside was last issued around 2002 or 2003. The '55 Stepside was initially reissued in '97, and again around 2006 (Parts Pack version with the glue & paint). Both have been OOP for a good while now.

The '55 Cameo was last released around 2018 with new Coca-Cola decals and vending machine. If you had a spare stepside bed in the stash, you were in luck.

Personally I prefer the '57 kit as well, but if either of these kits was reissued, I'm sure the 3D printing aftermarket would offer the hood & grille to build the other version.
