Sportabout Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 This Chevy was originally bought as a donor kit, but most of the parts were left unused, so I decided to make it a model with some modifications. I tested some paints for my Rambler '59 project and the Chevy looked so special that this two tone paint can stay on the model. The gas tank and spare tire cover have been taken from the chassis , and the new ones were obtained from the '58 Edsel Pacer kit. There are some changes in the engine and some may recognize which V8 it is. The seats in the interior also went to the Rambler, so the Edsel gets to give its interior to this one. Only the dashboard was left of the Chevy. 1
Sportabout Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 The engine is almost finished, but the valve covers need to be repainted when the Revell Chrome spray wears off. The engine compartment had to be made more room by removing the radiator wall and it will be installed in a suitable place later. 1
Mopar - D Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Nice project Kari I like how your using what you to work with to build this Chevy.
Sportabout Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Favorite Bel Air is back. Edsel interior is installed and the Hurst shifter is now on the floor. The chassis is almost complete and awaits the axles and exhaust pipes. Next body painting: two tone color with black roof.

Well Karl, as a big fan of these cars (former owner of a couple) I'm watching with interest. I'm curious why you made a change to the trunk section with the fuel tank and spare tire well. Sportabout Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 The Chevy is a donor kit from which I took the trunk section with the fuel tank and spare tire for my Rambler Wagon project. For Chevy, I took parts from an Edsel.
