I have wanted to build a chopped, full-fendered ’32 Ford 5-Window for quite some time. This model was inspired by one of my favourite local Deuces. I just happened to be there when the builder flashed it up for the first time. He built this ’32 5W the way he wished he could have done with the first Deuce Coupe he owned as a young hot rodder. After a few years the builder sold the more recently built car but it remained local. He missed it so much he eventually bought it back after a number of years. It had been driven very little. Amazingly enough he paid the same as he had sold it for.

ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS

-Top chopped about a scale three and a half inches

- Roof top insert removed

- Louvered hood top from LouverWorks

- Stock firewall from Replicas & Miniatures which had to be modified to provide room for the engine

- Wheels and tires – kit tires with hand painted white walls – front wheels from kit, resin rear wheels from a stalled Mark Gustavson endeavour. Baby Moons from AMT 40 Ford.

- Small Block Chev V-8 from AMT parts pack with a parts box 4-speed trans. Used kit SBF oil pan to mate with engine mounts that had to be reshaped to give clearance for the headers which were modified from the Testors Smoothster.

Great looking bright blue paint and finish. The top chop looks like it would still be easy to see out of. Nice interior and engine detailing.

I was fortunate to have a close look at Phil’s build a few days ago at our SPAM club meeting and can attest to it being a real jewel! Phil has been putting together a replica collection of local hot rods and customs based on his experience and knowledge of the Pacific Nor’ West auto scene. He’s a prolific builder with something new to show each time.

Congrats Phil on this latest addition.

Cheers Misha

Hi Phil, although I did see this at the club meeting, I didn’t take the time to have real close look at it. I was busy helping Gord reduce the size of his model car stash!????

Fantastic work as always. Your replica builds are so well done. The blue and red really pop, and give the car a cool retro look.

Beautiful 5 window coupe there Phil, I've just started on mine and would be quite pleased if it turned out half as nice as yours. Well done.

Cheers,

David. ??

That's a good looking Hot Rod there Phil.  The blue catches your eye immediately and the red wheels & grille just make it all pop.  I'm liking it.

Thanks Jason - Your hoods are great. Still have one more Deuce hood. I also have your California Kid set which I hope to use sooner than later.

Beautiful build! Tastefully done. The only thing I'd change is the zip code of the display case!

Thanks Dave.
