Gramps46 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 (edited) I saw this on the bay and having seen the real car in the flesh twice had to get one. This is where I messed up when I sorted by low cost and shipping and ordered it, 1/18 Ford MKIV Shelby Collection. It arrived and there are no number decals. Plus, no Gurney bump, wrong color knock offs on right side, no front jack hooks, no chassis sill rivets, et al. Going back, I can now see that Shelby Collectables did both with and without number decals. They also kept it generic enough to offer different colors. Oh well, live and learn. I did order the correct decals from lemansdecals.com if I ever decide to go the Snakefu route. Edited October 27, 2024 by Gramps46 1
vamach1 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 They Shelby Collectibles were priced pretty low compared to other brands like Exoto which were 4-5 times more. I remember buying a MKII from ToyrsRUs and took it back because at first I did not notice the steering wheel was one the left side so they must have patterned it after a Superformance replica. They ended up correcting the later versions. The Exoto ones of course are very nice but are expensive and out of production.
Rich Chernosky Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Gary...that's a shame they missed all those important details. I have an Exoto MKIV ( the yellow Sebring version) so I would probably never bother getting a cheaper version. I got mine when the getting was good and was able to purchase it wholesale from my friends up in Vermont. Could never afford it now that I don't have a business. Hope you can fix some of those details. 1
