Well I had a bit of a conundrum about how to mount the radiator and grill. Moving the axle out in front of the frame rails creates a problem for both the grill and the steering system.🤯 At first I had the grill shaved and tucked in between the frame and axle. That  left no space for the tie rod. The solution that I finally decided on was to move the grill out in front of the axle. Very limited suspension travel now, so I will have to avoid speed bumps.😬

I sectioned the kit radiator and mounted it backwards in the grill shell. Then I used thin CA to glue some fine mesh to a piece of.010” styrene sheet for the front of the radiator.

The new setup leaves lots of room for the tie rod and whatever fan setup I decide on. Thanks for your Patience everyone.🥴

How about using a "suicide" spring perch and notching the center of the grille around the mount?

I think I’d have the same issues mounting the grill and radiator. I don’t like the raised spring mount though…I think it looks a bit scary.😬

Man that's some fantastic work on this one!

Love all the mods, so much like building a real one.

It's a show stopper, I love it!

Thanks for sharing all the progress with explanations, VERY informative!!

As long as the welding was performed by a competent tradesman, the "suicide" spring mount wouldn't be dangerous, in and of itself.  It's the unprotected stuff sticking out everywhere that's the problem. 😁

Looking good Greg and I like how you kept the full grill. But as you said, have to watch out for those speed bumps.

He should be fine over the speed bumps, Len, after he installs some heavy duty shocks. 🙂

As long as he doesn’t take them from a shoebox Ford😀

I just found this one and I'm all caught up with it.

Wow Greg! 😮

Awesome work with the chop and custom top!

And the chassis is coming together quite nicely too.

Thanks for your interest, encouragement and patience everyone!🙂 I am kinda making this up as I go along…trying to fix issues as they arise.🥴 I’ve never really been good at making a plan and sticking to it. I have a general idea of where I want to go but usually wind up changing tack a number of times due to unforeseen issues or just whims.🤪

Yup - suicide front end - best left for T bucket IMO

I had missed this - you a doing a fine job Greg. I like the strakes on the roof and the front end treatment. Lots of engineering going down . And the GMC engine - just a bit different to the belly button SBC and flat motors and looking kool too

What a transformation Greg.  This is really taking shape.  Totally different looking ride dude.

I finally figured out how to get some sort of interior into this wedge shaped body. I made a tracing of the frame rails on the floor pan then scribed the floorpan partially through dead center of the frame. Then I glued the floor pan to the body, cut the center portion free and glued it to the frame. Now I can get a minimal interior installed in separate sections…one attached to the body and one attached to the floorpan. It may be a little unorthodox, but I have no idea how else to deal with it.🤯
