With a 40% tariff on goods from China hanging over our heads. I am going to stock up on as many model kits that I can afford. What about the rest of you?

I'm placing a pretty substantial order on reproduction sheet metal. I learned the hard way during covid -I balked at the price for 72 Charger lump hood "pre covid" at $699. ,  then they were not available for 3 1/2 years. They came back in stock at AMD this summer and the price had went to $999.  But I ordered it with some much other needed body panels.

So im ordering everything else I need for the 4 mopars and firebird this week.

Most stuff I get is used, but I'll be putting in pre-orders on the new AMT Barracuda and Chevy wagon as soon as I can. I think it'll take most model companies (except Atlantis) a couple years at least to bring production back to the US.

I've got enough model kits to last me decades, so I don't care.

But I'd kinda like to see some kit manufacturing return to the States anyway, even if it does mean higher prices.

I will buy American if at all possible.

I ordered a few things I will need later just in case and I'm going to buy a baseboard heater for my bedroom anyway before the serious cold weather hits, nothing model related. As "Ace" said I too have enough models to last me till death.

You’re beginning to sound like the toilet paper hoarders who flip out every time somebody sneezes.

I’m not that type to let my blood pressure get out of control over kit prices anyway, so I’m not loosing any sleep over it.
