Bronzekeg Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 so, I went ahead and mounted them to the chassis. also mounted the toolboxes. next up are the fenders and the 5th wheel. 3
Pete68 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Ken that looks nice starting to shape up now thanks for sharing. Glad your decals came in.Â
Force Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) 8 hours ago, Bronzekeg said: just not happy with the finish on the wheels. they look too much like chrome plastic. It depends on what you are after, highly polished aluminum wheels are very shiny, almost looks to be chrome...but it's just about taste, I mean wheels that are not highly polished don't shine as much and if they are left alone for a long time they get very dull. But I don't like the look of the wheels for the reason I gave in my last post, the Moebius wheels doesn't look right for this era truck either, they are too modern. Edited January 13 by Force
Pete68 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) I like them Ken the way they are once when  you get the cab and everything else added  they will blend in and calm down I think. To be honest I think they have a Polish look more than chrome plastic look my self. Take it from some who has had owned  Antique Show trucks and was an Owner Operator who knows about those older Alcoa wheels they look fine. Edited January 13 by Pete68
Rockford Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I like the heat shields on the stacks and the wheels look good too. Going to be a very nice build.
Bronzekeg Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 I got the rear fenders and the 5th wheel mounted. next on the agenda are the tail lights and mud flaps. 3

Bronzekeg Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 taillights and mud flaps are done. going for a factory fresh look. decals on mud flaps are from the kit. fender decals from model trucker. chassis pretty much wrapped up except the front bumper which I will mount after the cab is fitted. I have started on interior door jams and pictures will follow. weather has been below freezing, way too cold to paint the cab. 2
BK9300 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Great progress, Ken - looking forward to seeing how you do your door jambs.
