Luc Janssens Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Hi all, Just got notice that the Februari 2025 issue will be the final one.

I'm in the same boat on the Hemmings Magazine issues. I also get their Classic Car Magazine. I recently started subscribing to their original magazine and they have made some very nice improvements as to coverage and their online auctions. The remaining issues due you on this subscription will be replaced with their original magazine so if you're not a subscriber now you'll receive the remaining issues of that magazine. This will give you an opportunity to see if that would be a valid consideration for your interests in the future. For myself I think I'll probably stay with the old original. I used to subscribe years ago and sort of drifted away but I'm finding the way it is done at this time interesting again. I think it is sad that so many, if not all. of the magazines we used to subscribe to and enjoy have all gone away.
Robberbaron Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Yes, got the same notice. Not a surprise since I heard that Hemmings Classic Cars was also getting killed off. By sheer coincidence, my subscription was set to expire with the Feb 2025 issue.
Mark Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 With some of the same types of articles creeping into the regular Hemmings Motor News, it's not really that surprising. I am surprised that magazine has kept going, many of the ads are the same every issue. But if the parent company can still sell all those ads, they're going to keep that one and ditch the others.
TransAmMike Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Well that sucks, it's the only mag I have a subscription to.😠

Force Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 More magazine deaths. They can't put out printed copys if no one buys them and people that don't buy the magazines and only go to the internet is to blame for that. I prefer to read a printed magazine before reading on internet because I hate reading digital magazines online and often I don't. 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 yeah I like reading on actual paper because the screen hurts my eyes; I already need glasses to see far away. Since grade 5.

Since grade 5. Try a pair of over-the-counter reading glass's that are designed for working with a computer screens. The ones I got were under $20 and have a filter that protects your eyes from the screens glare. 1
webestang Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Hemming's killed their "Clastic Car" mag as well. It's being combined with Motor News like the Muscle mag. Guess now the only mag I still get in the mail is Old Cars. Funny though they still have the site as oldcarweekly but it's bi-monthly now. https://www.oldcarsweekly.com/

oldcarfan Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 The world changes around us no matter how much we wish it wouldn't. Hot Rod, Car&Driver, Automobile, SAE, and so many of the other publications that made up my youth are gone. Some are still around in online limbo, but it's sad.

Yes, there's another thread from last month about this floating around somewhere. And my sub ended with the January issue. Been a subscriber since day one and I'll have all but the last issue☹ Edited December 22, 2024 by LennyB 1

Classic car issue is out now I have it. Just waiting for Muscle Machines Feb issue then that’s it. I am kinda sad even though I know the two will be shoved into Motor News but that mag is too large, the classic car a muscle machines were conveniently sized. That being said I may pick up a Motor News once a while, but not as regularly as I did the other two mags.

I read somewhere on another forum that these two mags are getting 14 pages in Motor News, not sure how true that is.

LennyB Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 After being a subscriber to both mags since day one and having my Classic Car subscription end one issue short I had to go out today and pick up the final issue at Barnes and Nobel. Ironically I paid on average $15 per year for the sub since I had both and renewed my subscription every year at the Hershey car show. They also threw in a bonus like a hat or tote bag. So now just to get the last issue I laid out $7.99, more then half what I paid for a whole year. Came home and the final issue of MM was in the mailbox, so I guess that’s the end of an era…
Mike C. Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I stopped getting it years ago when they sort of lost their direction. They started to feature over the top customs that were really in bad tastr. Sot of like Chip Foose style. I knew it was over I'd seen the writing on the wall. 1
