I'll be building a 66 Belvedere form moebius, I think i'm going to leave it mostly stock appearing on the outside but I have some ideas for under the hood... Nice Mopar Cale!

Sam I Am Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I have the bmf finished and paint on the interior bits. I think it compliments the exterior quite well. Now to try my hand at wood grain. At least you won't be able to see it. 😁 3
53gmc Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Still more to do but coming along nicely. The color is actually more red but comes out orange in photos 6

89AKurt Posted January 23 Posted January 23 🤔 I haven't worked on a car model since the last ever GSL, all the ones in the WIP section won't qualify. But since I'm still a model addict, and there are two Porsches in that photo, I could do the Fujimi Porsche 911R Coupe '67 kit that I got last year, so this should get me to bust the slump. Also have the Tamiya Jagermeister Type 934 if I don't get in gear by summer. Won't be official until I clean the bench, finish some honey-do projects around the house, who knows what else, and take pictures. 2
iamsuperdan Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Body is about half done it's 19 hour print. And I have chosen the engine for this one. Will be period correct, and a little different. Need to find appropriate wheels now. 3

53gmc Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Got this one wrapped up last night, added tools and a cooler to the bed, just need to gas up and I'm ready to run! 2

Seems to work just fine for printing parts and bodies. And there's less cleanup, because there's no messing around with IPA. 2

Fat Brian Posted January 24 Posted January 24 The transformation of the Hasegawa kit into the Revell kit is pretty much done. The bottom half of the engine is installed and about as much of an exhaust system as I can fit. A quick rinse and it will be ready for primer. 7

To dispose of it I just let it evaporate.
oldcarfan Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) Welp, things went sideways on my build. I was working on my build in the shop and had to come into the house for something. Absentmindedly, I brought the body with me and set it on the kitchen counter. Coming back, I couldn't find it. After a few minutes of wondering if I'd lost my mind, I noticed Fia the cat sitting nearby looking pleased with herself. Searching some more I found the Golf in the backyard in the pictured condition. Evidence in hand, my theory is that Fia knocked it off on the floor and Bernie grabbed it and took it outside for chomping. The suspects claim to have alibis, but they are shaky. Lesson learned, never trust a cat on the counter and a Corgi puppy. Luckily, I have the AMT Rabbit kit which is a reissue of the ESCI kit, but it's definitely knocked me for a loop. Now if I have enough Go Mango paint left. In trying to make the best of the situation, I just now ordered the VW Caddy pickup conversion kit from Hiroboy. Should have it in a couple weeks and I'll try to use it with the leftover part from the second Golf kit. Edited January 26 by oldcarfan 7
Wagonmaster110 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Gary, I fear that all the time. That my 22 month old Sheltie won't get to any of my projects. So far he hasn't. Tim

It was really looking good.

That was about the best paint job I've done in a while and it took the wind out of my sails. Maybe I can make a new start tomorrow. 1
atomicholiday Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Got color on the body today. The old Testors painted laid down great thinned with Mr Leveling Thinner . Might be the smoothest finish I’ve ever done. 4
bill_67 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Just putting up a quick update I'm switching out my chassis for a nascar one this Thing just dropped right in after a little trimming to the rear wheel wells. I'm using the wheels from amt 68 corvette custom kit. There about the similar size to the nascar slicks. No idea on the engine yet. 2

Beans Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Chassis well onta way to completion. Not sure if I want to weather it a little just to give it that driven a bit look. I hate this part of engine building but for some reason always feel it necessary. 3

At first glance, I thought this was to be an element in a wreck diorama...untimely meeting with a harvester combine out in the Midwest flatlands while running flat-out. That would still qualify as a CBR entry wouldn't it? 2
