dbostream Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Reissue coming next year: https://tamiyablog.com/2024/12/some-future-upcoming-tamiya-re-releases-for-2025/ Hopefully Tamiya keep reissuing kits that have not been available for a very long time. I have a long list of kits I want. 1
Jim B Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Wonder if it's going to be the street car or the rally car? 🤔

stavanzer Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I would think the Rallye cars would be the better selling kit. Maybe that's why Tamiya released the street kit first. Just a guess on my part.

Just a guess on my part. the road cars are jumping in value in europe just now. a basic non quattro version starts at around 5k for a decent project car and starts at 35 for a good one. its not that long since they could be picked up for a few hundred to 1500 for a quattro. 1
Bennyg Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) Sweet! It’s on my list. I would love a reissue of the Volvo 850 as well. Ben Edited December 26, 2024 by Bennyg More info 2
64Comet404 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I would love to see both kits reissued by Tamiya. The last Rally version I owned had twisted windshield pillars, and was unable to fix it. 1
dbostream Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 Looks like there is a half decent engine in this kit too.

StanGlover Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I built this kit a few years ago from an early issue that I got from eBay for a surprisingly low price. Really nice kit with tons of detail. The engine plate looks pretty good when detailed. It has several pieces that you glue on to the plate almost like you would a “full” engine. I gave it to my stepdad (he owned a red quattro in the UK in the 90’s), and I couldn’t find another reasonably affordable copy so I will definitely need to get one of these! 4
Can-Con Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Like DCI Hunt used to say , "Time to fire up the Quattro". 😉 Edited December 28, 2024 by Can-Con 2
Justin Porter Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Really super stoked to see this reissued. I built an old release of it in high school and the decals were absolutely shot. I also look forward to what the modern aftermarket will release for the Quattro. 1
stavanzer Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Sure is a sharp looking car, even after all these years.
Rodent Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I snagged an original one a while back on the 'Bay for dirt cheap, possibly because the seller ended the auction when nobody in the U.S. was awake. It looks like a nice kit, and I am glad they are bringing it back.
