Hello, in 1978 my brother and I bought two cars, a Mercedes Benz 300SL and another whose name or manufacturer I don't remember, of which I only have a few pieces left. The model looked a lot like a Dodge Charger, with a V8 engine, metal axles front and rear, orange, with water-based decals with the cross on the roof like the General Lee, but it didn't say anything. I attach a photograph of the wheels and seat. If anyone can help me...

Well, those tires are NASCAR slicks and so is the wheel. The seat looks like an old bomber type seat that was used in some race cars from after WWII till about the 60's when better and safer seats became available. It's possible it was some old stock car, but you don't have enough parts to really figure that out. Sorry, I can't help anymore than that. Maybe if you can find more parts or a body or maybe you have a pic of it somewhere we would help more.

Hello D.W., that's all I have of that kit, it wasn't a competition car, it was a street car, orange plastic, I think without chrome parts. Thank you very much for your contribution.

I'm guessing it was an MPC Kit, based on the shape of the seat and colour of the plastic, but after that I cannot help.

Hello Alan, thank you very much for the help, I will look into that brand.

Those look like AMT NASCAR tires. During that era AMT was using gray plastic. The wheels also look like NASCAR but that seat doesn't. What scale is it?

Hi Mike, I would guess 1/25.

The parts are from the AMT Macho Mustang and later releases of the kit such as the Warren Trope Mustang. 1978-AMT-Macho-Mustang-modelbouw-auto-1-25-7.jpg1978-AMT-Macho-Mustang-modelbouw-auto-1-25-3-570x380.jpg

I had that kit [still have the remains]. Mine was molded in white, never seen one molded in orange before. 🤔

Hi Andy, I don't think I forgot a Mustang, it's a classic anywhere in the world. My brother's had the Confederate flag on the roof, a decal, but it didn't have anything written on it. Thanks.

Maybe the parts were used on a different model.

I'm 100% confident Andy's correct about the origin of the parts in your pic.

Hello Steve, I agree with the veracity of the photograph, as well as what I narrate since they were the first two models we bought, we did not have any parts to exchange and we did not have experience in that either. I was 6 - 7 years old. I didn't know this world.

Is it possible you are remembering the Dixie Challenger Hot Wheels and somehow associating it with those parts?

Hello Harry, it was a plastic kit, I don't remember the brand, but it was not metal.
