Sam I Am Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Here is my one and only build from 2024, and it only took me four years off and on to finish. 17
ncbuckeye67 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 That's one beautiful El Camino! Great choice with the (Cadillac?) wheel covers. I love the sedan delivery too!
mustang1989 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I've taken one of these on and know firsthand how challenging these can be. The color choice on yours really brought out the best in the car and you picked out all of the chrome trim and details perfectly. Where'd you source the wheels from as they go well on this.
Sam I Am Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Thanks everyone. I found a car online that was the inspiration. The wheels, engine, and the steering wheel all came from the Monogram '59 Caddy. I also incorporated a 1961 Impala hood into it. 1

I used the Monogram 59 Impala engine on mine (which looks like the same engine that 's in the 59 Caddy kit). Fit right in there like it was meant to.
espo Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Your time was well spent on this El Camino. I like the clean stock appearing finishes. Great paint finishes and colors. The interior in your build thread looked great as well. The chrome trim can be a real challenge on this model since it is really light and hard to follow.

karbuildr Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Very well done. A classic AMT kit and you definitely did it justice.

When I started finishing my 60 sedan delivery, I found that the chrome tree also included the bits for the 59. I wish I had noticed this earlier, I might have used some of them because of better detail.

carrucha Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Cool El Camino. Glad you finished it. Makes a nice pair with the 1960 sedan delivery.
