MarcelT4 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Today I had some time to continue work here. I created and printed new mirrors, as well as the covers for the folding headlights. This is what the covers will look like on the model. There are also new seats (in Liberty Walk style). Tomorrow there will be more work. 5
David G. Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Nice work! The headlights abd boot lid trim look especially nice. David G. 1
MarcelT4 Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 As announced, there's a little update today. It doesn't really look like much, but it was very time-consuming. First I made the frame for the front hood. Then I removed the front inserts for the parking lights and indicators. New printed ones were then inserted here. One original and one copy. Why the whole thing? Well, I want to illuminate the model, so I put separate lights in there, which are also illuminated individually. Then I built a console for the seat and gave the interior a floor. Here's the test. 4
MarcelT4 Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 We continue with small steps. The interior was primed. The printed drive shafts were given their first color. None are included in the kit, only a steel axle is provided at the rear. The exhaust also got a coat of paint. The door with the new upholstery. And here is the seat with the console. 3
David G. Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Lots of good things going on here. I really like the improvements you're making. David G. 1
Mattilacken Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Nice progress there! I will also try to get hands on one of these big 1:16 Italian cars, probably the Ferrari 288GTO 2
MarcelT4 Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Just a few little things again today. Once again, the side air intakes don't fit at all, so they were separated in the middle, a piece of Evergreen inserted and sanded into shape. Then the Countach was fitted with a door lock and hood release. And the interior was painted. Unfortunately, that was it again. 4
Technics Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Incredible skill. Love to see. Did you scan the body first ? 1

Then everything was scaled to the appropriate scale of the kit and adjusted to the dimensions if necessary. 1
MarcelT4 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Hello everyone, a little update. Unfortunately, I don't have much time, so it will probably take a while again. It's "only" a fitting test, but things are progressing. 4
beeRS Posted March 1 Posted March 1 The body shape can really be seen now. It looks awesome. Do you have a colour in mind for the body yet? 1
MarcelT4 Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Thank you. I have chosen pearl white as the color. The wheels will be black.
MarcelT4 Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Small update. Seats Rear wheels. Maybe there'll be more tomorrow. 3
MarcelT4 Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 Here is the chassis with half of the interior. The engine got cooling water pipes, which I once again realized by 3D printing. (These are not included in the kit) Here are the rear wheels and brakes. And the body primed white. I did this in preparation for the white paint. It will be a white with pearl effect. I continue until the weekend. 4
MarcelT4 Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Hello, I'm going to ask you a question here. I want to light up the model, but I'm not really getting anywhere with the flip-up headlights. I've already racked my brains, but can't find a good solution as to how I could make the mechanism so that they fold up when the light is switched on. I've had ideas with push and pull solenoids, linear servo ....... Maybe someone has an idea that I haven't thought of yet. I look forward to your ideas.
MarcelT4 Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Just another small update. I have created and printed spring struts. Installed here. The drive shafts are now also in place. Front too. The intercoolers. And a first rear view. As I can't find a solution for the folding headlights, I'm going to make a compromise and no longer install the lighting. 3
MarcelT4 Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Evening everyone. Things have now moved on here too. I have completely installed the turbo system. I gave the interior a printed shift gate including the gear knob and new pedals. You already know the printed seats. The dashboard is now also finished. The spare wheel flew out of the trunk. The body has been painted. Still without clear coat. Once again in detail. That's it again for now. Not much, but at least something. 2
MarcelT4 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Hello, short update. Finished painting, decals and clearcoat on and everything loosely put together. 1
MarcelT4 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Here is another picture where you can see the pearl effect a little better.
MarcelT4 Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 It went on. The dashboard with steering wheel. And a trial run with wheels. I tinted the rear lights. Matches the white paint better. The heart. I hope you like it too. 1
David G. Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Beautiful paint! 😮 Lots of fabulous detail going on with this one, very eye-catching. David G. 1
MarcelT4 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago I have something for you again. I tried to replace the bulky windshield wiper with a 3D printed part. I continued with the mirrors. The belts were also installed. Of course, these are also printed parts. And finally I painted and fitted the lamp lenses.

Have been following this guys on YouTube. He built a Lotus Esprit, and made working pop up headlights. This is the build summary, but in the previous 20 or 30 videos, he documents the build, including how he made the headlights work.
