Steve H Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hi all! Got this one finished up yesterday, so here it is in completed form. The initial inspiration for this build came while working on my pro touring 70 Caddy. Russell C here on the forum sent me a link that sent me down a rabbit hole, and I came out with tons of ideas. Thanks again Russell!!! Then Martin Aveyard built an amazing cyberpunk car, and that was it, I had to build one. Thanks again to Martin as well for inspiration, and some help with questions I had. I totally get that this build will not be everyone’s “cup of tea” but it was fun, and something a little different. List of modifications: Body: Dodge Daytona body with rear removed, front fenders removed, raised, then reinstalled to add width, side scoops added, opened grill and hood vent, roof scoop, headlights from a Camaro. Body is Tamiya metallic orange, with clear orange, then clear. Interior: modified dash, added S10 gauges, scratch built console/shifter/and drift brake, seats from a Subaru rally car, seat belts, roll bar, radar detector, parts box steering wheel, keys in ignition, flocked floor boards under hood: fuel cell with fill tube, battery, NOS bottle, re positioned rad with hoses, scratch built inner fenders. Chassis: narrowed front, lengthened mid section, relocated wing forward about 12”, ignition wires, fuel line, brake lights, modified wheels to suit and added valve stems. Thanks to all that followed along in the WIP thread. It sounds like a couple of you have builds of your own brewing! (Anton, Martin, others?) Hope to see what you guys create. More information in the WIP thread below should you be interested. And the “glamour shots”…. Thank you for taking the time to have a look. As always, all comments, questions and criticisms welcome. 21 Quote
BK9300 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Steve, what a magnificent job - the sun makes all the details pop even more - well done! I am still amazed at your 'parking lot', too - its perfect for your 'glamour shots'. Quote
Chuckyg1 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 They say it's not the destination, it's the journey. I followed on this journey, and enjoyed every step. I was amazed by how this came together from concept to the final destination. I can only hope to be half as skillful. I think the final result is spectacular. Bravo. Quote
ea0863 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 FANTASTIC and creative build! I love the freedom of ideas you brought to the table. I may have to try my hand at this "cyber punk" thing myself Quote

Phildaupho Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Awesome model. Looks incredible. Very well engineered and constructed. It makes me fantasize as to what it would be like to drive around a race or slalom course. Looking forward to seeing what's next on your bench. Quote

espo Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Enjoyed following your build and the way you made everything come together. The chassis and engine setup along with the body and suspension all look very accurate to a real machine. Beautiful paint color and finish. Like the interior details. Quote

Man it’s been grey … I did a WIP thread on the parking lot a couple of years ago. It was a fun project which combined my career in road building, with two of my favourite hobbies, modeling and landscaping. If there was a mountain bike in there… hmmmmm🤔. We could put some fake snow on it for when your plow truck is done!! Thanks for the kind words. On 1/12/2025 at 5:56 PM, Chuckyg1 said: They say it's not the destination, it's the journey. It’s fun building something that doesn’t necessarily have to fit any “template”. There is some latitude with how how it comes together. I am hoping to see more of this type of build on here. I will be good for 2 more eventually. 23 hours ago, spencer1984 said: Awesome job on this, the style and execution are top notch! Thanks Bill. You’re in Vancouver right? Hope to have this over there for the show in the spring. 23 hours ago, catpack68 said: Awesome work Steve! I like the way it turned out. It was cool seeing the WIP. Seriously though, thank you for sharing the link wayyyyyyyyy back when I was building the Caddy. I have more saved screen shots for inspiration than I know what to do with. Just one of the many things I like about being on this forum. 1 Quote
