KurseD Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Did this build for the November group build-off in Herk's Modelworks group on Facebook. Pretty happy with how it came out. Flaws and all it was a really therapeutic build in a time I really needed to just escape the world for a while and focus on some personal stuff. I built it somewhat stock with an aftermarket distributor, some 3D printed Cragars and "Sticky Mickeys" boas ply tires. Also added some of my 3D printed side pipes that I designed for the Ford van I built last year. Paint is a Createx gold base. Then faded the graphics in with some Sangria candy (brighter red front), Merlot candy (darker red to the rear), and ended up hazing in a little Violet Candy at the very rear all from Tropical Glitz. Axalta clear coat. Also added a mild lift to the rear leaves to clear the bigger tires in back. Shag carpet is from a fuzzy kids shirt I found at Goodwill and Moon foot pedals were photoetch parts ordered online. Hope you guys dig it. 10
Radretireddad Posted January 20 Posted January 20 That’s a very impressive paint job you did. The createx gold base looks great. I have some I haven’t tried yet so I’m happy to see you got such great results with it. Thanks for sharing.
stavanzer Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Awesome Paint Job! Very 1970's. Excellent Build. Good Show.
Coyote_6 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Beautifully retro! That takes me back. Outstanding paint. Cragar S/Ss? The wheels are perfect!
Steamboat Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Beautiful build! The paint job is awesome and it's a super clean build.
espo Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Like the paint treatment, especially the way the roof pattern was done. The interior looks great and wonder what you did for the shag carpeting on the floor.
Bills72sj Posted January 23 Posted January 23 That sure has some pretty reds. The roof pattern is killer.
ncbuckeye67 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Wow, that paint is amazing! I really love the shag carpet though (talk about retro, Lol).
KurseD Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Thank you for all the wonderful compliments guys, I really appreciate it.

Zippi Posted February 2 Posted February 2 That's a good looking Chevy C10 pickup and that color will get your attention really quick. Nice paint job dude.
