this is part of a what if series of models the what if subject is what if the dukes of hazzard was made in australia and set in the fictional small town of hazzard south australia
this is the first of these vehicles finished cooter's 62 falcon ute tow truck i started with a amt/ertl 60 ford ranchero parts kit
i converted the dash to right hand drive sanded away all the ranchero name plates from the body
the light bar and cb radio/antenna and tools/toolbox/gas cans/fire extinguisher and tow mirrors and wooden ram guard for the front bumper all came from my parts boxes
a friend sent me the tow boom and i used a thin metal chain from a older stalled build and a tree ornament hanger to make the tow hook
i hand made the hazzard garage decals and the south australian versions of cooter's truck license plates
i painted the body/hood and tow boom a base coat of rust-oleum 2x flat grey primer and a top coat of rust -oleum 2x flat red primer
i then wet sanded the body and hood in various places and pressures to achieve the worn paint look

Great concept Michelle, that falcon tow truck of Cooter's looks awesome. For Boss Hog's car may I suggest the 1977 Ford Fairlane LTD. Sadly we didn't have any home grown luxury convertibles. Well done and I look forward to the next instalment.

Cheers,

David. 😎👍

G’day David, Boss Hog drove a Cadillac didn’t he? It’d have to be a GM product, so I guess an HZ Statesman Caprice could fit the bill. Nice work on the XK ute Michelle and I’d be interested to see what cars an Australianised Dukes of Hazzard might drive.

That's a very creative, and "outside the box" build Michelle. Nicely executed!

thank you
