Blueprint Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) I saw this in a Sunwards Hobbies (Canada) newsletter: AMT 2005 Chrysler 300C pre-order I understand from Scalemates that this kit came out way back in 2010, but it's coming back in 2025 with new box art! Edited January 22 by Blueprint 2
Can-Con Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Yea, "Scalemates" I have this boxing of the kit, IIRC the original. Copyright date on the box is 2005 and Fotki upload date for this pic is July 18, 2007 so I'm thinking the actual release date was 2005. 2010 was just a new box. Edited January 23 by Can-Con
Dave Van Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) I like the kit. A very different pick for AMT at the time. My build with a model of my real Concorde I had. Thanks Edited January 23 by Dave Van 1
stavanzer Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I just hope Round2 Has fixed to totally Horrible Instructions. They were First Gen CAD drawings and had confusing forests of straight lines leading to the undersides of wheelwells and other errors. They were just hard to follow. 1
Blueprint Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 It would have been fun to get the updated styling and a Pentastar, but still it's nice to have a few "regular cars" out there to build.
dino246gt Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I did like those weird instructions as art though! Maybe not all that helpful as instructions, but they sure look cool, to me at least. Although I haven't looked at them in over 10 years.
av405 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) I'll probably pick one up. I never bought any of the previous releases and this fits right into my love of everyday vehicles. The 1:1s seemed to be everywhere for about 10 years after the initial release. Edited January 23 by av405
Blueprint Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Would be fun to combine the 300 kit and one of a Dodge Magnum to reproduce the 300 Touring that was sold in Europe : 5
VanGoGo Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I always liked the 300 body style, thought it looked kinds like a chopped Bentley.

It seems to me that even though the conversion is a bolt-on swap in 1:1, no two 1:25 models of the Magnum/300 bodies have the same dimensions. Jimmy Flintstone does have a resin body for that conversion making the job much easier.

Yes! It would be nice if they tooled up a kit of 2023 Chrysler 300C final edition with the 6.4 Hemi. Edited January 24 by drksd4848 2
66c10 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Nice to see the Chrysler 300c Hemi kit coming back out I need to pickup one and build one and add one to Mopar collection
stavanzer Posted January 24 Posted January 24 The Instructions. Not as bad as I remembered, but not great either. the Chassis and Engine Bay are the worst bits. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chrysler/amt-2005-chrysler-3/?view=roll#1

One of the engine choices was a 3.0L diesel combined with a manual transaxle. Turn off the tractor control, and the diesel would break the front tires loose. A very fun vehicle to drive. A.J.

Mark C. Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Currently $1 Canadian is around $0.70 US. The math puts a $49.99 Cdn kit around $35 US.

You mean the rear wheels? 1
