I have been trying to replenish my stock of MR.COLOR LEVELING THINNER and it seems to currently be not available in the USA.  There are numerous eBay offers of the product but they are all overseas with shipping costs that double the cost of the product.  Does anybody have any insight as to why the product is currently unavailable in the USA?

Got some from the amazon recently, took a while to receive, a few weeks probably, not sure where it came from.

I asked here a few months ago, but I at that time , seemed to be the only one with a problem finding it. Then it showed up at Amazon for a while, and now I see it's out of stock there again.

So for me, I've just been using Createx and craft paints. And I had gotten away from needing MLT, forgetting about it till this message today. I can't answer why the US market isn't getting supplied. So happens, I get along fine with Createx anyway. Or various enamels thinned with hardware store lacquer thinner, so it doesn't much matter to me.

I've never heard of them, but I found some at BJ Hobby Supply, in midwest USA. Maybe try that. There isn't much around. Another place had 110ml bottles.

Barbados Rex used to recommend that stuff for all kinds of paint (lacquer, enamel & acrylic) and now has his own version which he says is slightly better.

Hmmm, just checked and the supplier (Robot Kai) is also out.

Barbetos is out of stock on the Kaizo Leveling also. But BJ Hobby is still listing the Mr Leveling Thinner this morning as in stock. Or I should say add to cart is not blocked.

Leveling Thinner is one of those products that sells out VERY quickly not only at us retailers, but also at the vendors. I'm currently sitting on a backorder of six cases of 400ml bottles with my primary wholesale vendor for Gunze Sangyo products. Also waiting on stock to come available of 40ml jars of Mr Surfacer Black 1500. I also order in the 110ml bottles just to have something on the shelf in between shipments of the 400ml.

Amazon is usually from Spray Gunner or AZ Toy/Hobby. But Spray Gunner is out of both thinners, the regular Mr Thinner and the Leveling thinner. As of yesterday anyway. I haven't looked today.

I followed your lead and ordered a 400mL bottle of MLT from BJ Hobby today.  They accepted the order and my payment through PayPal.  We'll see what happens.  Thanks for your comments and info. When I first started using the airbrush I made an effort to use Createx products but had so many problems with tip dry, orange peel and all the other painting issues that a neophyte to the process experiences. I may revisit Createx as I have gone from being a disaster with the airbrush and rattle cans to being almost competent.  The few models that I painted successfully with Createx came out looking pretty good though it was usually a matter of luck rather than skill resulting in a lack of repeatability.

Yep, also haven't been able to find the Mr. Surfacer Black 1500........I think they are both excellent products and apparently so do many others if it sells out so quickly.  Thanks for your insights.

Glad you secured some !

Also, glad to help concerning Createx when that day comes, if that day comes. Don't just wing it, you'll get screwed up. And if you go to places like Hobby Lobby for advise, they barely know they have it, never mind anything about it.

Just bought two 400ml bottles from hobby nut models. I own plenty of it, but didn’t know it was on back order at a lot of sites. So impulse buy lol.

I got my bottles from ebay. I ordered 8 of them, so I'm plenty stocked for now.

seems like the demand exceeded the supply, but I remember hearing about some shipment being delayed in ports a couple months ago, many online hobby stores are out of a lot of Mr hobby primers/bottles or cans and all types of their thinners,..I bought about 4 big bottles of the stuff about a year ago so I would not be stuck in the future,if you go to a auto paint store and ask for slower drying thinner (different temps that body shops paint in) you can get the same stuff as Mr hobby levelling thinner its just slow, medium, fast drying thinner

Jeez....Maybe it's just me; but, doesn't anyone think outside of the model box and bother using Google to find an online source other than fleabay? I do. I got my Mr.Color Leveling Thinner 400ml bottles from BJ Hobby Supply a few months ago for 16 bucks each plus shipping.

Turns out I rarely, if ever, resort to eBay and did in fact follow the lead from Dave G. and obtained the product from BJ Hobby Supply.  Just to clarify;  in my original post I mentioned only finding eBay listings for the product, those listings came up in a Google search.😎
