Spooker Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hello everyone. Joined here a few years ago but never participated. With the demise of the Randy Ayers board, I've joined a couple of other forums but a few days ago, I thought of this one and tried to log in. Bingo, my old account was still valid! So here I am. I recognize quite a few names from other places, Ayers and the Short Track Forum mostly. Hi Rich, didn't see you at the last southern tier swap meet! Anyway, I used to be a dedicated race cars only modeler, but now I'll tackle whatever appeals to me. Figures, a ship or two, space stuff (both real and fictional), anything interesting. I'm retired, but as I was warned by many that preceded me, I am busier than ever. So be warned, I build VERY slowly! To top it all off I built a 1:1 vintage dirt modified to race, which takes up way too much time and money. So don't expect any long, detailed WIP's from me, at least not right away. I've really enjoyed browsing the great builds on here, not sure I can compete, but I'll try. Here is a small sample of a couple of things: My take on the old Edmunds Super Mod: Aurora re-issue Frankenstein's Monster: Sonney Seamon Asphalt Pinto Mod: 5
Rattlecan Dan Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Welcome Brian. You build Very slowly and Very nicely as I recall. Glad you feel no need to compete, there would be many of us who would not be able to keep up. Welcome and enjoy.
Bainford Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Welcome to the forum, Brian. Some very nice models there. Good to have you aboard.
johnyrotten Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Welcome back to the forum, very clean looking builds. That super mod looks awesome.
Rich Chernosky Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Now that is a real coincidence. Last kit I finished had your name and address on the bottom of it. Must have done it at a swap meet. Haven't seen you for a l-o-n-g time. But...glad to see you on this forum. Don't be shy...put some more stuff up. We always appreciate anything anybody wants to share.
Spooker Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 Hey Rich, I felt bad not bringing all my F1 kits to the last swap, but then again, I think you are the only guy that even looks at them!

Don't feel bad Brian. As you know I have most of them anyway. 60yrs of collecting will do that. And besides..we F-1 and Exotics builders are in the the vast minority . Just look at this forum. The muscle car and hotrodders are much more active and numerous here. Not complaining. All modellers here have something to contribute and I talk to everybody. It just that is the way it is. But don't give up hope. I know of quite a few modellers who will tackle an F-1 kit just to see if they can do it. So...keep bringing em. See ya at the next one.
Pierre Rivard Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Welcome aboard Brian, I really look forward to seeing your work. I used to post on Randy's but slowly migrated here as there is more variety of topics, no hosting site needed to post pictures and a wonderful group of peers.
James2 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Welcome Brian glad you were able get back onboard, you models look very nice. How about a pic of the 1:1?
Spooker Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Thanks, everyone! Glad to be here! 16 minutes ago, James2 said: Welcome Brian glad you were able get back onboard, you models look very nice. How about a pic of the 1:1? See my post in 1:1 Reference Photos for the real thing.
Old Buckaroo Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Love the super mod - it just has such eye appeal, nicely done ! Also I'm a fan of the old Aurora Monsters and many reissues of same characters. I like what you did with the base and the addition of a rope belt. Oh yes , welcome back to the forum !
Thedragsterdude Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Welcome Brian if you build race cars then I’m in because welcome!
