Lyle Willits Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) This is a departure from the stuff I usually build but I just love this new Revell '57 chevy kit. Old M&H Racemaster piecrust slicks. Traction bars from an AMT '63 Chevy II funny car, painted with Duplicolor Chrome. Stripped down the frame and added the gasser front suspension from a Nomad kit. There will be no bumper or grille so I made a splash pan from a strip of plastic. It will run a Moon tank from BOB DUDEK. Obviously, I HAD to buy this decal sheet. Car will be sponsored by LYLE'S CHEVROLET. These cars remind me of when I was a YOOT in New Joisey. Edited April 28, 2009 by Lyle Willits
noname Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 This is looking really good. Nice stance and proper parts for a 60's gasser. Look forward to more.
Fletch Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 These cars remind me of when I was a YOOT in New Joisey. Lyle, My Friend, that is way to cool. Honestly, I don't think I could have come up with a better use for a 150. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one progresses.
Raul_Perez Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Lyle, I really like where this one is going!! Old style gassers are one of my more favored themes!! Keep up the GREAT work and keep us posted on your progress!! Later,

george 53 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Lyle, it don't NEED ta be in your usual vein of things you build, caz it'll STILL be a killer.ALL your builds come out that way! Although a touch of humility does show your a normal guy. From the looks of it so far, it looks like your right on the beam with this one too! Lookeeen Gooood my fren!
randx0 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 These cars remind me of when I was a YOOT in New Joisey. Did you say "yoot"?nice build so far looks cool with out the rear wheel wells hogged out.
Chuck Most Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Lyle building a drag car? That's almost as out of character as me building a replica-stocker! Can't wait to see this one.
