THarrison351 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Since Christmas, I haven't been able to build models. We have a new mouth to feed in the house and she requires constant attention. It hasn't stopped me from purchasing things online. Not necessarily a holy grail more just a grail. Since I started collecting Mint diecasts on the cheap in the early 2000s, this is one that eluded me. Either too busted up or missing parts, I never expected to get one. This popped up with an out of this world buy it now and I didn't hesitate. It's missing tweezers and one door guide is cracked, but compared to so many, it's perfect for me. All paperwork and the box too! A rare moment of calm for June bug 3
slusher Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Great find I remember us getting milk deliveries.. Cute buddie!
Old Nasty Posted February 10 Posted February 10 This truck takes me back to when I was a little kid. For some reason, I remember our milkman's name. Warren Bushbaum. Sometimes he would come right in the house & put the milk & butter in the fridge. I think he had the hots for my mom. A much simpler time. 1
Geno Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Way cool. I too remember when milk and eggs were delivered to our home by our local dairy in Divs like these.😎💯
Bills72sj Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Me too. Suburban Omaha, Nebraska. Mid to late 60's I think the company was Graystone Dairy. They had a couple dairy/Ice Cream stores too.
von Zipper Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Congratulations ! These Danbury Mint DIVCO milk trucks were very nicely done .
mcs1056 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I just bought a Danbury Divco Borden's truck today (Ebay). I plan to strip and repaint it to make our old Detroit version, a Twin Pines Dairy truck. Once it's here, I'll measure it up and find a source for custom-made waterslide decals. I use my name as the driver, and our old phone number (TWinbrook3-0XXX) for the back. Anybody else have the old milk chute on the side of the house? Not just good for milk: As a kid, I could sneak in or out through it. Of course, that was 110 lbs ago. 1
