jjsipes Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I found a 3d printed 1966 Plymouth conversion set on Ebay to use with Revell's 1967 Plymouth GTX. I'm trying to gather more pictures to finally build Richard Petty's 1966 Daytona 500 winner. Gonna be a slow build. Would anyone have some pictures to share of the interior or under hood of the 66 car? 1
MarkJ Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I have some somewhere because I built one of these a few years ago. I'll see what I can find.

MarkJ Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Jason, I knew I had some good ref pictures of the interior and the taillight area but I can't seem to find them. I lost a lot of pics in the wip I did at Randy Ayers that I lost the first time they shut down. I lost some more on other builds the second and final time they shut down. I should have put them here at MCM and I would still have them.
jjsipes Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Thanks everyone for the pics. I had some of these but some I did not. Still looking for that elusive under hood shot to see whether this carhad inner fenders or not. I have one 3/4 shot during construction showing what appears to be just the upper inner fender is there but the lower is cut away. Anyway, working on roughing in my interior floor. I'm doing this one like my Bobby Allison Daytona Charger. I filled in the grooves on top of the chassis pan from the frame rails. I then glued the interior pan in place to have the transmission tunnel and rear package tray in place. Smoothing out the interior door panels and will glue them in place so the my dash is located properly. I cut out the rear seat, the interior floor so that I have the upper side of the chassis exposed to appear as if it's the top of the floor pans. I left the door sills in place so I can glue the door panels in place. 1
jjsipes Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Appears the 66 Daytona car has white pin stripes on it. These are some screenshot from some footage of the 66 Daytona 500 I found on YouTube 1
MarkJ Posted February 16 Posted February 16 You are right, Jason. The most accurate reference shots of a car are usually you tube video screen shots. The trouble sometimes is getting a clear enough shot to make out things and you can also get the contingency's correct for a certain race you want to make the car for. You have found a good screen shot there for sure.
