That Plasticated Guy Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Hello, all. As you may have guessed from the title of this thread, I'm an ARCA Menards Series fan. I decided to go with it and watched all of last year's races on YouTube to get geared up for this year's season. That being said, the season opener at Daytona was not exactly the best. It seemed that after a handful of green laps someone would break loose and then a chain reaction. The end result was 25 cars out of a 40 car field were wiped out. The red flag was even waved and the race break was a competition caution. Hopefully this won't continue throughout the rest of the year.
1930fordpickup Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) Isn't that what always happens when Arca gets on the big tracks? The Toledo track is not far from me. But I have not been to an arrca race there. Do the still race at Flattrock? Edited February 18 by 1930fordpickup Fat thumbs 1
1930fordpickup Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I am sorry if my post was taken as harsh, it was not ment to be. Just young drivers starting the season or career in Arca should not start on a big wide open throttle track.
That Plasticated Guy Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 No offense taken, Andy. And last year's season at Daytona wasn't that bad and Talladega and Michigan was green except for the midway break.
bobss396 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I went to the 1994 Arca race at Daytona, it was a good race. I catch some on TV now and then, like Milwaukee. At the end there may have been something like 8 cars on the lead lap. The talent of the drivers varies quite a bit. FS1 had it on the other day, I was doing something and missed it. I'll look for it again.
Lunajammer Posted February 20 Posted February 20 First ARCA race I've watched in years, but a kid from town here, Bryce Haugeberg, raced so I had to see. Glad I did. I got to see the birth of new media sensation Cletus McFarland and see the kid finish tight among the last cars running. How he got our college to sponsor him beats me, but it was a nice looking ride. 2
1930fordpickup Posted February 22 Posted February 22 ARCA Head Quarters is down the main street from me. less than 3 miles. They were closer until they had a fire a few years back.
