tim boyd Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) I am probably going to be accused of self-promotion with this post, and perhaps rightly so. (Mods, please feel free to delete this post if you deem it inappropriate). But I want to alert anyone who has been thinking about buying the "Collecting Drag Racing Model Kits" book that the remaining supply of the book at the publisher is down to 150 copies as of earlier this week. At this point the book sounds unlikely to get a second printing, so now might be the time to pounce before it is entirely sold out. The book can be purchased directly at www.cartechbooks.com, through trusted online kit retailers like Model Roundup and Spotlight Hobbies, or through Amazon.com. Best Regards, and thanks to any of you who have previously purchased and read the book! TIM ********** (For those unfamiliar with the book, it was published in late 2020 and features 350 full color images and 175 pages of text covering the vast world of styrene assembly kits of drag racing cars. Twelve chapters are arranged by kit subject (Super Stocks, Gassers, Funny Cars, et al). There's also a bonus chapter showing built up drag racing models from experts like Guy Beaudette, Steve Perry, the late Bud LeFevre, Bill Coulter, Don Emmons, and others. The book is rated at 4.8 out of 5 stars at Amazon.com. If interested, you can read more about the book here.) Edited February 22 by tim boyd 5
slusher Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) What about collecting muscle cars was there one of those Tim? Edited February 22 by slusher Typo guys
tim boyd Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 1 hour ago, slusher said: What about collecting muscle cars was there one of those Tim? Sure was/is Carl. This one enjoyed a second reprint run, so there are still a reasonable number in stock. Not a huge number but enough to sustain sales for a while longer. For others reading this thread, the book Carl is referring to is titled "Collecting Muscle Car Model Kits". Those who are interested can get it from the same sources listed above. Cheers...TIM
sean2390 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 IMHO both of the books are excellent reference sources and are highly recommended.

Ragtop Man Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Either you have this book, or you need it. Scolarship is on point, and there are even a few surprises in there. Glad that HP was willing to listen! 2
Chris in Berwyn Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) I probably will pick up a copy. As Tim says, several online vendors have it too and you can save a few bucks buying from a couple of them. Edited February 24 by Chris in Berwyn
iangilly Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I have both books Tim, and found them both great reads and very informative. Anyone who buy either book won't be disappointed.
Bills72sj Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I have both books. I have read the Muscle Car collector version cover to cover 7 TIMES!
Droptop 66 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Have it and love it! As someone who grew up in the 60's when Drag racing kits were everywhere (even annual releases portrayed racing themes on the cover), this book is a treasure trove of reference. Thanks, Tim!
tim boyd Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Guys....so glad to hear that you all have enjoyed the book, and thanks for sharing your reactions here. Highly appreciated, especially so by my publisher! Very best to you all...TIM 3
