iamsuperdan Posted March 3 Posted March 3 1976-ish with our Torino. First pic in our driveway. Second pic is me with the Torino after it was rear ended. That was the end of this car. And here I am in 1978, with our old Volvo. We're getting ready to move from Toronto-area out to Alberta. Me and a police car. 1981. Me and some Porsches. England, 1987-ish. 5 1
bogger44 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Faded pic from 1984. That's me pulling the wagon, with my brother riding and the neighbor kid pushing. Our '68 F100 in the background. Dad was doing some bodywork to it at that time as someone had sideswiped it earlier in the year. Edited March 3 by bogger44 3 1
Roger U Posted March 3 Posted March 3 This is the Whippet my moms family had in the 1930s. I've read that these cars were made from the late 1920s to the very early 1930s. 3 1
von Zipper Posted March 4 Posted March 4 my older sisters first car , she never was a good driver the first vehicle my mom bought for herself when she retired , she picked it out , bought and paid for it with her own money , it was the first vehicle she ever had that was registered in her own name , 1997 Ford Expedition 1
Mike C Posted March 4 Posted March 4 This isn't the actual car. But my parents had one just like this when I was a kid. A 1960 Mercury, same color too. 1
drodg Posted March 4 Posted March 4 One more of my 1972 Dodge Demon in high school. lousy picture sorry. 1
Mike C Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Here's another one. Also not the actual car buit the same car and the same color. It was a hand me down from my grandfather for when I got my driver's liscence. It's a 1966 Dodge Polara. I took this picture at a car show I was at. 1 1
stavanzer Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) This was my first car. Bought it in 1980. I was a Junior in High School. It is a 1953/53 Dodge M-43 Ambulance. Paid $800.00 for it. Weighs about 8900 lbs. 4 Speed Trans. High/Low transfer case. 2wd/4wd. In the High range only 2nd,3rd & 4th could be used on the street. 1st gear was a Granny Low, about 10 mph top speed. Despite the size of the wheels and brake drums, the actual brake shoes are smaller than a Plymouth Valiant. I sold it in 1991. Edited March 5 by stavanzer Added more Info. 4 1
iamsuperdan Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Spring 1976 - me and our old AMC Matador Our old 1967 Mercury Comet Cyclone This was the 1968 Plymouth Fury III that was supposed to be my first car. It was like Christine. We bought it, and dad was haphazardly fixing it up. Dented front fender first, then the front grille, then some side trim, then finally the rusty quarter panels. Then I turned 16, and my parents figured a convertible with a weak heater was not the best first car for a new driver. Darn them for being right. Summer 1988. Trip to England. Me and a Porsche. Again. 1 1

stavanzer Posted March 7 Posted March 7 SuperDan. Those were some Super Cars your family had! I really like the AMC, and the Comet Cyclone.

Nothing said 'low budget hotrod' better......... I think so? I remember it had a set of spokes that went over the wheel, but dad removed those pretty quick, and I don't remember them ever going back on the car.

They were kind of a faux wire wheel that looked a Lot better without the spokes...... 1

ChrisBcritter Posted Friday at 06:33 PM Posted Friday at 06:33 PM Mom, a deer and our first white-over-blue '53 Chevy on a trip to Colorado in 1956: That fall, Dad traded it in for a brand new '57 Buick Century in Dawn Gray over Carlsbad Black; he didn't get whitewalls but he got factory A/C. Unfortunately the best color shot got double exposed: By 1959 he customized it a bit by removing the grille spear: So when I was born the next year it became the first car I ever rode in. 1 1
ChrisBcritter Posted Friday at 06:42 PM Posted Friday at 06:42 PM By 1965 we had another white-over-blue '53 Chevy for my mom. A year later we sold it for $90.00 to some guy who later told my dad he drove it from Chicago to Memphis with no problems: And Dad had a slant-6 '61 Dodge Dart Seneca; here I am describing the shape of the grille: 1 3
