Silvercreeker Posted March 1 Posted March 1 The Tom Daniel Pie Wagon is done. This is the re-issue from Atlantis. I built this in the early 70’s as a kid but this time it’s a bit better built. All the body seams were molded together and smoothed before paint to avoid the huge gap that is usually present in these builds. Lowered ¼” in rear. Color is MCW Finishes Pink Panther Lacquer with Tamiya Pearl Clear and Gloss Clear. All chrome was stripped and rechromed with Revell. Engine details include alternator from Iceman Collections, and spark plug boots, wires and looms from Detail Masters. 3D rear shocks and steering linkage, and the valve stems on tires are also from Iceman Collections. Tom Daniel kits are still some of the coolest around. Enjoy. 6
James2 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Absolute beautifully built Pie Wagon. Great detail, cleanly put together, well done. 1
Redisetta Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Wow, great job Scott I love the color. I have also thought about rebuilding one of these, hopefully a lot better than the one i built forever ago. Every time i see one of these it reminds me of my grandpa, whenever we were eating pie , he would always say,” I only like two kinds of pie— hot and cold 🤪 1
Lobo2me Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Beautifully done! Great detail and paint. Can I go for a ride as long as I don't sit on the pie...? 1
Belugawrx Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Very cool ...funny, I was just rummaging thru the 'Paddy wagon' as you posted this up... Well done 1
lordairgtar Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Awesome build. I'm going to have to buy another one. I gave the kit away to one of my cousins. 1
Chuckyg1 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Great build! Great attention to detail. The photography is very good as well. 1
TonyK Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Great job! You took this kit to a new level with all your attention to detail. 1
ea0863 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Absolute beauty, including the photos. Deserves to be cover art on the Atlantis box! I'm doing virtually the same color combo right now myself, but my build won't be anywhere as nice as yours. I'm finding the body shells tricky to glue together. 1
