Kenmojr Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Please feel free to post your photos of AMC cars in this thread. I'll start with a photo of a 1975 AMC Gremlin X, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada - July 8, 2016 downtown Moncton during 2016 Atlantic Nationals. 2 1
rattle can man Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Nice! I sure wish the kit MFGs would do some new AMC stuff (not just variations on the Pacer and Gremlin).
webestang Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Between my Pop, Grand pa and one uncle they owned a Gremlin, Pacer wagon and 4- Hornet sedans.
PHPaul Posted March 18 Posted March 18 The AMX, Javelin and Rebels were pretty sharp cars and under appreciated. The rest of AMC's styling isn't my cup of tea. 1
Dave Van Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) COOL STUFF! I like the Pacer Panel and Rebel in copper. Here are my wo....down from 4!! 1973 Javelin. I am 2nd owner, bought in 1993. 1974 Matador coupe. Bought in 1994 from the lady that ordered it. She gave me all the paperwork. Edited March 18 by Dave Van 4
Russell C Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Hornet Gremlin (or something) pickup, from this old Hemmings page. Carl Green Pacer pickup from this person's blog post scan of a 1977 Petersen's Trucking Trends magazine article about it. (the blogger guy built his own Pacer pickup version) Edited March 19 by Russell C 1
Reegs Posted March 19 Posted March 19 First car I ever owned was a used 1961 Rambler American with a flathead 6.
iamsuperdan Posted March 19 Posted March 19 My parents' old Rambler. Pic was taken in December 1973, when I was about a month old. Same car, but obviously not from December 1973. Was in the same tray of slides though, so here it is. Here's our old Matador. I think it was a '74. These pics are from early 1978. 1979. Just moved from Ontario to Alberta. 1981. In the backyard in the snow, next to our 67 Comet Cyclone. 1982 1983. I'm the goof in the hat. 3
iamsuperdan Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Found more scans of the old Matador! Most from 1976. Some from '78, one from '77, one from '80. Would be amazing to track this car down. It probably rotted away in a field a couple of decades ago though. 2
Bainford Posted March 21 Posted March 21 (edited) Just a couple from the files I really dig this little Gremlin. It's just the way the hot Gremlins looked when I was a kit; spring shackles, slapper bars, and big & littles on Cragars. I notice a 390 badge on the front fender. And then there's these... The green one is a Rebel Machine, too. In case you've lost track, that's four sad, derelict Rebel Machines and the parts from a fifth. When I first discovered these cars in 1984, all five were here, and the one painted blue was a tired runner, and they also had their hood scoops. Some of these photos were taken in 2023 and some in 2006. I return to the site every 6 or 7 years or so to take some photos and see how they are getting on with their long return to the earth. Kenmojr Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 What a shame to see this Rebel The Machine rusting away.
