As you stated, it's not a great kit, but it's iconic, and a lot of fun, to build! I do, but the early pictures are unfortunately half-covered by a Photobucket tag. On later pictures I was using Fotki so they work fine. Here it is, and here's also a link to my Fotki album to actually see the pics. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/90198-55-chevy-bel-air-ags-finished/ https://public.fotki.com/NostalgicDrag/55-chevy-bel-air-ags/ 1

That's way cool! Now, I remember seeing it, on here. I wish I'd got rid of the exhaust on mine. I convinced myself it was going to be a glorified curbside, and justified not doing it. It was just a couple of weeks later that I regretted not doing it!😅
Bainford Posted April 3 Posted April 3 A simply awesome build, Daniel. The Bad Man never looked so good. I always enjoy your builds. So much thoughtful, authentic detailing. You've got skills, brother. I love it. I am digging your hood pin arrangement. I have not seen this solution before, is this your idea? Either way, I have been planning a '53 Ford F-100 build that will need hood pins and I haven't worked out a decent way of incorporating them. I'll be steeling this idea. Cheers. 1
TransAmMike Posted April 3 Posted April 3 "Bad Man" has a lot going on there! Terrific job Daniel!! 👍

It won Best Engine, at a contest, last weekend. For some reason, they gave the Best Drag Model to a 1/16th scale Blower Bentley that was entered in the Competition Road/Rally class. I was more than a little disappointed--less by the fact that I didn't win that, but by the fact that they gave it to a car that wasn't even a drag racer.

I appreciate your kind words, my friend! When I was figuring out the hood pins, I was looking at the front, molded-in pins, and there was no place anywhere close to there to anchor them. I figured this would work, even though I'd never seen it, before. It looks kinda cool, too! I'd be honored to have you use it! 1

I will be interested to see what you do next. Thanks, Robert! I am happy with it, for sure! I'll be interested to see what I do next, too!😅

Flatout Posted Friday at 09:54 AM Posted Friday at 09:54 AM Awesome build Dan…the detail work is exquisite! Everything looks well used, just like an often raced weekend warrior would look. Definitely the best build of this old classic kit I’ve seen 😎 1

I try to make my race cars look "lived-in"--I've never seen a pristine race car!
