happy grumpy Posted Monday at 08:36 PM Posted Monday at 08:36 PM (edited) Built last year . I had a lot of issues with the engine, rad, air filter etc... fitting in that bay, so I did omit a few things and left the hood shut before I would loose my mind. The rest went smoothly. I'm ok how it turned out though. the Tamiya mica blue came out nice . Thanks for your time. edited the post to reflect the correct year. Edited Monday at 10:26 PM by happy grumpy wrong year 15 1
espo Posted Monday at 09:47 PM Posted Monday at 09:47 PM Beautiful paint and color. Like the photography and the landscape background. You may want to double check the year model represented since this looks more like a '67 than a '68 if that should even matter.
Pierre Rivard Posted Monday at 09:48 PM Posted Monday at 09:48 PM Supper happy they opted to extend the C2 production run an extra year. It's the best looking Vette ever. Ok Mario, now that you have shown the real car can we see the model please? 😃
karbuildr Posted Monday at 09:49 PM Posted Monday at 09:49 PM Very well done Corvette and excellent photography as well.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted Monday at 09:58 PM Posted Monday at 09:58 PM Beautiful Vette! Nice photography too!
NOBLNG Posted Monday at 11:41 PM Posted Monday at 11:41 PM That color looks terrific on it. Love the background diorama too!👍😎
TransAmMike Posted Tuesday at 12:35 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:35 AM Yep Mario, another winner, prrrrty in blue!! 👍
ncbuckeye67 Posted Tuesday at 12:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:25 PM Very nice! I love the blue. I built the convertible version and had the same issues you did.
Brudda Posted Tuesday at 08:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:17 PM Great job! I just wonder on some kits why things don’t fit. You wonder if anyone actually builds it at revell. I really used to get upset on models. That did not fit. Now I just cut, sand or whatever it takes. Model factory hiro kits are really bad for this. You pay a fortune on a kit and things just do not fit. Getting burnt out on this so I’m putting them away for awhile. I have bought so many hiro kits that now I’m insane. So for my own good I’m putting them away for awhile to regain my sanity. Your build is nice. And I understand completely on fit.
DJMar Posted Tuesday at 08:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:26 PM Sweet Vette. Absolutely love the color, and you can't go wrong with white stripes on a dark car. Congrats on getting it done. I have a half-finished Revell '67 convertible sitting in my stash from 2003 or so. The fit issues underhood were so frustrating, it's been sitting in the box for more than 20 years.
ea0863 Posted Tuesday at 09:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:55 PM I love this build and presentation, but am particularly smitten with that gorgeous blue!
RIXprints Posted Wednesday at 02:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:17 AM Yeah, one of my dream cars. Beautiful rendition.

Aside from the engine bay, this kit builds well but fitting everything in that engine bay is sure a challenge. I'm glad it's done albeit minus a few items. 22 hours ago, kelson said: Nice looking Vette!!! Thanks Curtis 20 hours ago, Brudda said: Great job! I just wonder on some kits why things don’t fit. Now ,like you I just dremel out until it fits. 20 hours ago, DJMar said: Sweet Vette. Absolutely love the color, and you can't go wrong with white stripes on a dark car. Congrats on getting it done. It can get frustrating, in my case , this one will have it's hood permanently shut, besides, it still looks good in the cabinet right next to my 69 Corvette. 19 hours ago, iwantmodels said: Beautiful work on this model.
