BIGTRUCK Posted March 24 Posted March 24 SSP reissue of the 1959 '32 Duece hotrod. Mostly built using kit items except I added taillights,I cut out a piece of clear for a windshield ,most of the decals are parts box and I used chrome discs instead of kit wheels. Radiator and gas cap added. Used epoxy on gauges front lights and mirror. The exhaust was cut apart and installed eliminating 1 pipe , it needed to be 3 per side not 4. If you love to do detailing everything on this kit needs to be painted. 8
stavanzer Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Awesome! That kit can still be made to shine, 60 years later, by someone who takes the time and effort to do it Right. Which you did, in Spades.
Zippi Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Haha...that looks Super kewl there Ken. Good looking little Hot Rod and I love the flattys.
Earl Marischal Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Love it! An excellent build of my favourite kit. I have 2 in my stash and must get round to starting at least one of them. Would be great if the kit were reissued (again). steve
6bblbird Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I never built one of those kits because I thought that they couldn’t be made to look good. You proved that wrong! Nice job!
Straightliner59 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 That's cool! I love old Monogram kits. This one took a little work... 1

I built it to sort of replace my replica of "The Bug" rail dragster. Obviously, it's a '32, instead of just Model T frame rails, but the seat and tank and engine (except the blower) mimic that car, pretty decently.
