1959 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I think I haven't posted this one here eventhough it has been finished some three years ago. I got this AMT American Graffiti Coupe from my friend and as I have never been big fan of that yellow film car I wanted to do something else. I got also a bunch of glue bombs and spareparts and there was several Monogram Lilcoffins in pieces so I decided to use the engine and wheels and tyres from those. I also installed the Lilcoffin rear seat and door panels. Dash was modified with gauge panel from that part lot, it might be from Monogram Boot Hill Express. Taillights are scratch built from clear rod and BMF. Suspension was slightly lowered by cutting the rear coils and modifying the front beam and thinning the upper leaf. Paint is a hardware store rattle can metallic blue with clear coat. It is straight out of the can without wet sanding and polishing. Thanks for looking Kimmo 17
Kah puts Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Boy that’s a hot rod! Looks like it could be on the cover of a Beach Boys album 👍 1 1

STU111 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 That captures the old school look nicely, notice she’s running a Desoto Firedome engine. Cool rod. 👍🏻 1
ea0863 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Great build Kimmo. I like the beefier engine and larger rolling stock. So much more attitude! 1

Phildaupho Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Great looking Deuce Coupe from a kit many overlook that you really enhanced using a very well coordinated selection of parts 1
1959 Posted Friday at 05:50 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:50 PM Thanks all for very nice comments! I realized that I had taken the pictures before installing front hub caps. Someone mentioned that this overlooked kit. I don't think this is a bad kit but should not be compared to more modern Revell kits. At least the chopped body is OK and saves a lot of work.
