My guess would be that the tow truck driver flipped it back over and then they drove it 700 miles home.

Actually, what unexpectedly after the above photo was taken was that a pan dimensional / anti gravity anomaly occurred, resulting in the car splitting in two, twice … sorta … and then it just floated off and has been hanging around in various places ever since.
(I figured saving this guy's illustrations page link would come in handy someday)
