Charger Funny Car Posted March 30 Posted March 30 This was the AMT Gartlits dragster with a few tweaks. Great kit with lots of potential. 8 1
Mike 1017 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Looks very good and spot on. I saw the 1:1 in the Garlits Museum
echo Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Nice modifications from the kit car. As a kid this was the kit that seemed to get it right with the details, I loved it, and at the time it was the state of the art in dragster technology. It's still a nice kit with a lot of potential to build a FED, I doubt if we will see a new kit of a correct '64-65 FED, though 3D printing is a possibility. Congratulations on a nice build.

I am finding some great unbuilt older FED on the Internet. Am currently working on a 1/16 Tony Nancy digger that I found on eBay.

diggerguy Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Looks good man! People don't get that Garlits business in this time was chassis building. There were LOTS of cars that used this same chassis and body. Red Lang Ark Malone Marvin Schwartz Off the top of my head! There were DOZENS of them! Do some research.
