pulln4dejr Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Built these a while back, sold them on eBay! They make really nice “promos” with some detailing. 13
Ragtop Man Posted March 31 Posted March 31 The Chevrolet Dealer that I worked at in Dearborn, MI as a car porter had that EXACT copper/parchment '77 Monte Carlo on the used car lot for a few days. Came out of an insurance auction, still dotted with red rubbing compound everwhere from the repairs. I must have scrubbed on that thing for hours to clean it up. Since it was a summer job, and there was NO shade, these would get hot as blue hell and the vinyl would be a frying pan. Always hottest when a customer wanted to take it for a test drive. and the salesmen would send me to the gas station at the corner to throw a few gallons in and cool it down. That said, the Montes moved very quickly in the day, so did the Camaros and Novas when we would get them.

I remember working on them at the local tire dealer and I swear you could stand between the radiator and fan! 🤣 Those hoods were 4’ long!
AMT68 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Real nice looking Monte Carlos. I've built a couple of these kits so far and in color combinations similar to the orange metallic and light green models posted here. The wheels on the orange model appear similar to the factory sport wheel covers available for the first time that year.
ea0863 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Sweet builds! I have to admit, the copper and light green ones particularly grabbed my attention.
pulln4dejr Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Thanks for the kind words. I actually got the wheels on the white and copper ones from the old AMT ‘74 T-Top Camaro, the white one with t-tops and they were also in AMT/ERTL ‘701/2 Camaro (#6898) which is an early issue. I thought they were a pretty good match for the ploy cast style from the Monte’s.
pulln4dejr Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 (edited) Also as a side note I listed a factory sealed one over in the “Trade Forum” if anyone is interested! Edited March 31 by pulln4dejr Misspelled word
pulln4dejr Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Thanks again, and the one I have on the trade forum is traded.
kelson Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Great looking builds!👍,Revell really needs to reissue this kit and Canuck3D makes excellent parts to convert to the 73-76 versions.
catpack68 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Nice work on all of them! I agree with Curtis.Revell needs to reissue these kits again.
pulln4dejr Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 I definitely think they should especially with 3D stuff being available!
Chuckyg1 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 This kit builds up really nice and has good detail for a snapper. I wish Revell would rerelease it. Your examples look great. I went low rider on mine 1
