mr moto Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Built this a few months ago but never got around to posting it before now. This is the first issue kit from 1962 that came with a ridiculous amount of custom parts and I tried to use as many as possible. Most of what you see here came in the box in one form or another - some parts were modified but the original instructions even encouraged you to do that! The wheel covers came in the first release (also 1962, I think) of the 1934 Ford pickup and the upholstery is courtesy of Hobby Lobby. Interior console is from the 1953 Studebaker kit. Enjoy! 10 1
TarheelRick Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) Love these OTB customs. Remember that version of the 57 T-Bird really well, would love to find one. I have the '61 Ford Galaxie on the bench and have used the complete custom front and rear pieces. That thing is really long. https://imgur.com/ptUtELA Edited April 2 by TarheelRick
Falcon Ranchero Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Looks crazy cool; when done correctly those AMT custom parts actually look pretty cool on the cars.
dino246gt Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Far out! Building models is a form of free expression, and that one's pretty out there! I love "out there"!
NOBLNG Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Cool!😎 Nice work Manuel…I never would have guessed that there is a ‘57 T-Bird under there.🙂
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Pretty cool. You really have to look hard to see any baby 'Bird in that.
Belugawrx Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Wow!! That is spacey man..it all just flows beautifully...and that interior is PLUSH Well done !
ea0863 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 What an incredible build! I have never seen this model before, and it is fascinating! Thank you for sharing
Claude Thibodeau Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Hi! Ah, those full-custom kits of the 60's. You made the most of it. Bravo! CT
espo Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Your isometric body design has a real "Jet Age" custom look. The roof and sunroof design has a lot of interesting lines to it. Beautiful paint finish and color. Like the fuzzy looking interior.
karbuildr Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Awesome work, really very cool. Try as I might as a kid, I never could get those crazy custom parts to look right. Your build is exceptional.
mr moto Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Thanks, Everybody! I'm happy that you got some enjoyment from my work. It was fun for me, too. Here's a little trivia quiz to lighten your day: What's the significance of the license plate in the photo below? I know some of you will get it!
