slusher Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Val Kilmer, best known for movies such as 1986's Top Gun and 1995’s Batman Forever, has died. He was 65 years old. His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, told The New York Times he died of pneumonia on Tuesday, April 1. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered, she added. 1
iamsuperdan Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Knew it was coming, but still a surprise and a disappointment. Awesome actor. Real Genius Top Secret The Doors The Saint Tombstone And of course, both Top Gun movies. I thought his appearance in Top Gun Maverick was just perfection. Was awesome to see Tom insist on that scene. And in watching, you could tell it wasn't a scene between Maverick and Iceman, it was Tom and Val. So good. 2
TonyK Posted April 2 Posted April 2 The only movies I saw him in were The Doors and Tombstone and I thought he was great. 1

John M. Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I recently saw "Thunderheart" online where he played an FBI agent who was part Sioux Indian. A versatile actor for sure. RIP dude. 3
iamsuperdan Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Totally forgot about a classic! Kiss Kiss Bang Bang That's worth your time for sure. 1
peteski Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) He also starred in a very silly comedy called "Top Secret!" Edited April 2 by peteski 1
johnyrotten Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Saw this this morning, he was awesome as Jim Morrison. Tombstone is one of my favorite movies ever. Not many actors today of his caliber. 1
stavanzer Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I loved him in Real Genius! One of my top 5 favorite movies. I have it on DVD, to watch when I get the urge. 1

iamsuperdan Posted April 4 Posted April 4 My wife reminded me of Thunder Heart. He was really good in that one. 2
slusher Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 I believe he was in True Romance. Heat is one of my favorite movies! 🍿 1
webestang Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Watched The Doors again last night. Man he WAS Jim in that movie. Apparently he listened to nothing but Doors songs for months before the shoot and memorized them all and when off camera he asked the crew to call him Jim. 2
