oldcarfan Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I sometimes buy diecast cars or kits to fill my collection and build them up for display. I'm not sure if they would be considered a model. Should they go in Under Glass or in Diecast Corner? They tend to be unassembled versions of the ones sold in stores, having about the complexity of the old unassembled promos that AMT sold as Craftsman kits. The only major difference is metal instead of plastic. This is an example. I used a Maisto 1/24 DOKA and did some mods.
vamach1 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Great looking VW bus. I’ve seen lots of under glass posts of diecast models with minor detailing up to a complete repaint, wheels and tire swaps, and detailing to the point the original diecast looks completely different. Keep up the good work.
iamsuperdan Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I think if you're disassembling them and refinishing/customizing them, then that's no different than fixing a gluebomb or improving a promo. I'd say you can put it either in the Diecast section or the appropriate WIP or UG section. I doubt anyone would complain about that. Probably. If you're just showing an untouched diecast, then definitely in the Diecast section.
