oldcarfan Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Not sure this belongs here or in diecast, so I'll start here. This is the Maisto 2017 Porsche unassembled diecast and plastic kit. I bought a couple on clearance a while back to use for parts and built up this one from the leftovers. These kits assemble like a promo plastic kit, so they can be a nice diversion from stressful builds. For this build, since 911s aren't noted for their storage capacity the car needed a roof box. I went with a John Ollson look for something different. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/modified/800bhp-lamborghini-huracan-roof-box First thing was to strip the yellow paint, managing to save the carbon fiber look printed hood. Then, I went classic, using Tamiya's version of Vailant Porsche Green. The car is lowered a scale 3-4 inches and I found some smaller diameter wheels and tires. On the front are a pair of KC Hiliters for night driving. 6
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Very cool. Hope that roof box is screwed on tight 🏁.
oldcarfan Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 I've been going back and forth on the roof box location. A lot seem to be mounted like this, but I kind of like them centered on the roof.
Funkychiken Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Its a cool conversion of the die cast kit, good colour choice too!
