Kit Basher Posted Monday at 05:13 PM Posted Monday at 05:13 PM Trumpeter kit. If you like lots and lots of tiny parts, this is the kit for you. The paint is Folk Art Metallic "Green Silk". The interior is various mixes of Testors. All the parts that should have been kit chrome but weren't, are Spaz Stix chrome. I wish I had done a better job on the interior, thought I could just freehand it. Oh well, as Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations". So I guess not so bad for an old man with shaky hands. The trunk liner is a pattern I found on the web, resized and repeated in MS Word, and printed on white decal paper. 11

rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted Monday at 05:41 PM Posted Monday at 05:41 PM Big Pontiac fan here. Your Poncho is super to see! I was 9 yrs old then and we would see these on the streets.
Falcon Ranchero Posted Monday at 06:10 PM Posted Monday at 06:10 PM That is super cool; I like the '60 Pontiacs. This is a vintage kit, correct?

bh1701 Posted Monday at 06:44 PM Posted Monday at 06:44 PM Everything about this one looks great! Bart
papajohn97 Posted Monday at 06:58 PM Posted Monday at 06:58 PM Really nice job Hugh on this less-than-perfect kit. I've built a fair number of Trumpeter aircraft and ship kits and the quality varies all over the place. Our next door neighbor had one of these '61's in a white hardtop back in the days when middle class folks would upgrade every 1-2 years. I like your green one better.
iwantmodels Posted Monday at 07:34 PM Posted Monday at 07:34 PM You did an excellent job on that kit. It's beautiful.
Kit Basher Posted Monday at 08:07 PM Author Posted Monday at 08:07 PM Thanks, Bart! Thanks, John! Thanks, L M! Thanks, D.!
karbuildr Posted Monday at 09:44 PM Posted Monday at 09:44 PM Very nice Poncho. Gotta love these big boats from back in the day. Looks great in the color you chose, and the interior looks exceptional to me. Good job.
TransAmMike Posted Monday at 11:30 PM Posted Monday at 11:30 PM Excellent build Hugh, a real beauty!! 👍

I'm thinking this kit is something like 20 years old now..give or take????? I remember when it came out and the common talk was it was a reasonably accurate kit . I have an original AMT version. Or I would have built one . Looks great btw Edited 23 hours ago by gtx6970 1
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Beautiful. Been wanting one of these for a long time, but the prices are just outrageous.
DanL Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Beautiful work... I'm building the 1961 impala SS right now Cheers
