All the parts for the 1935 Ford Coupe have been printed out now and looking good.  A couple of the wheels have a spot on the edge but that won't matter as it'll be up in the wheel well.  The floor pan wasn't as straight as it could have been but it's up under the car and will never been seen.  I'm pleased with my first full kit 3D print.

Looks great. Mo def (geezer tryna be cool) time for me to start thinking about adding 3D capability to my repertoire...now that you early-adopters have figured out what works this good.

I have a '35 diecast as a donor to mod a plastic '36, and I'll still probably do it, but man, this thing looks sweet.  :D

That is super cool! The prints look really clean, nice work.

The '35 coupe (3-window especially, imho) is such a great looking vehicle. This is one of those subjects I keep hoping kit manufacturers will give us...maybe, someday?

Thanks man.  Yup, find a 3D printer that strikes your fancy and pull the trigger.

I appreciate it DJ.  Yeah, the 35 Ford is one kewl looking car.  If the manufacturers won't produce it we now have the 3D capability to make it ourselves.

Very cool. Only a few small blemishes, that's a win in my book.

Yup, that's the way I look at it.  Thanks man.

Great print job Zip,,,that should build up real nice!

Well, that's what I'm hoping for Scott.  You just don't see a 35 Ford as a kit so it is rare.  Love the body style.

Thank's Bob.  I purchased the .stl file from DigitalSurface on cults3d.com.  Not hard at all.  Acually all the work to support the file is done in the software.  I'm using CHITUBOX V2.3.

Thanks. I have been poking around on cults, very hard to find things so far. I'll check out that seller.

Being spring, I'm hesitant to dive into 3D printing right now. I have 1:1 car stuff coming up, beach, pool, yard... maybe in the fall.

I hear ya Bob.  Here's a direct link to the .stl file for this 1935 Ford Coupe I printed out.  Same thing here man, we have a 1949 Chevy Truck Restomd that we take to the car shows and it's very costly in the spring to get the yard up and running.  Whenever you do decide to get into 3D printing and would like my 2 cents worth, you know where I hang my hat dude.

It would be great if some one did a conversion kit to change the AMT 1936 to a '35

this was my dads '35 2 dr sedan

there are resin grilles on ebay, and the motormax 37 ford pick up will give you the front fenders but it is a bit of work since the truck is diecast. I've got it in my build pile for the future

What a cool subject. And the kit looks good and came off the printer well.

I had a look at the Cults link and the cost for the file to us is NZ$43 which is about half of what we pay retail for a comparable AMT/Revell/etc kit so there is good value. Ok you have to factor in resin and the occasional snafu which would bump up the cost but it is looking like 3D printing is going a long way to give us access to subjects we would not normally see. The is a guy in our modelling group who has been smashing out things like Hudson Terraplane coupes, 38 Oldsmobile coupe and Tudor and his latest a 41 Chev Panel Van

Thanks Bill.  I hear ya dude.  I like doing it because it's fun.  I'm not looking at the cost, just the fun factor and yes...a lot more available that will not be in kit form.

I printed out a second body earlier today as I saw an issue with the first body and I was trying a difference configuration in the software and I cut over 2 hrs off print time off.  If you look at the front fenders you can see the flair out just a little in the rear.  Not a big problem to fix by pulling it together and adding a little heat to bring it back.  The second print did't have this issue.  Everything seems to fix fine so far.
