I guess mine would be 2 Live Crew from back in the day's. I never cared for their X-rated lyrics, but they did had rythem you could dance to and their music made for great mix's. I of coarse have their "clean" version's.

I'm also a sucker for the sound track from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I love that song they played while they were rampaging the shopping mall and Beethoven was on the keyboards! I think the song was called Play With Me, but can't remember who done it.

feel the fe feel the fe feel the bass !!!

Aw yes, bass music. I like digital computer-made music. Dynamix II is one of my favorites with two of their songs, Bass Generator, and Don't Touch That Dial.

If your hearing is good, and if your a movie buff, you'll recognize the voice of Johnny Five from Short Circuit in Dynamix II's song Bass Generator.

two phrases from Short Circuit.

"I'm a machine"

"They call me droid"

Bass 305 is another good one.

For DJ Magic Mike, I like Drop The Bass, and M&M's Gettin Off.

I didn't want to start a new thread, as I feel this

fits into this one.

One of the guys at work admitted to liking "Wham" , boy

did he catch a load the rest of the day.

What ONE performer/group do you secretly like,

but WON'T let your co-workers or friends know you like.

Mine is The Carpenters. :o

Awesome question. My friends and I call these are "closet Bands". I've got a few I guess. I guess I have more "closet songs" rather than bands I suppose. But I dare you to listen to any on these and not catch yourself bobbing your head.

Sara Evans - Suds In the Bucket

Britany Spears - Toxic

George Michael - Faith

Michael Jackson - Thriller (I think I like it mostly for the zombie video)

Third Eye Blind - Everything (They are quite possibly my favorite American pop band of all time.)

and yeah the Carpenters are pretty awesome. Great Christmas album.

I don't know how to make a playlist or really how to use MP3s or honestly I have no idea how to download songs. I'm not the most computer literate guy in the world. But I do have a stereo with a cd layer and a turntable in my workshop. Here's what I dig listening to:

Mastodon

Queens of the Stone Age

Sleep

High On Fire

Pentagram

Kyuss

Kalas

Black Sabbath

Metallica (1988 and prior)

Every Time I Die

Bongzilla

Blood Duster

Agoraphobic Nosebleed

Converge

Doomriders

The Clash

Tommy James and the Shondells

Dion

Prince

G'N'R

Joy Division

Smiths

Motorhead

Etc. Etc. Etc.

I guess I just like anything with a cool guitar riff (Yes Prince is one of the most underrated guitar players of all time). Til next time "Purple rain, purple rain..."

Fuji, That was Extreme ,, the same band that did "More Than Words".

Thank you, I used to have the soundtrack on CD but don't know what happened to it. I can still hear all the songs in my head but forgotten all the names. I've tried to find it in Itunes but they don't have any from B+T's Excellent Adventure. They only have their second movie, "Bogus Adventure" which I thought was kind of dumb. Got both Tivo'd at the moment, but would like to find both in Itunes.

Not familiar with "More Than Words".

I like a little bit of classic disco. After all, wasn't disco the begining of techno, dance music? Anyway, I've got an awesome remix to Bee-Gee's song "Stay'in Alive".

I also like JANET Jackson, some of my favorite songs from her

State of The World

Black Cat

Rythm Nation

I used to like these songs when they were new, till I discovered sadly, that she was related to Michale Jackson of whome I never cared for.

Then after 102 Jamz doing some mixes, I like these songs again and have'em on Itunes.

Really ?? :o Wow,, it was one of the biggest "power ballads" of the early '90's. Here's a link, I'm shure you'll recognize it. You pretty well couldn't turn on a radio and NOT hear it back then

Nope sorry, dont' recognize the song.

Okay, just found Play With Me from Extreme on Itunes, unfortunetly I have no way of purchasing it. But at least I know they have it. Just wish they had the full soundtrack!

Oh sweet! Just searched'm on Itunes and they now have BOTH movies! Hmmmmm, maybe Tuesday I'll pick up an Itunes Gift Card. Of coarse, they still dont' have the soundtrack available. :o

iTunes? 8-tracks? Puh-leeze! LPs are where it's at!

Some of the vinyl spinning while I'm at the bench:

AC-DC: Back in Black and For Those About to Rock We Salute You

Black Sabbath: Heaven and Hell

Dokken: Under Lock & Key

Megadeth: Killing is my Business... and business is good! and Peace Sells, But who's Buying.

Anthrax: Spreading The Disease

Kansas: Audio Visions

Alice Cooper: Alice Cooper Goes To Hell

Aerosmith: Toys in the Attic

Queens of the Stone Age: Songs For the Deaf (yes- it was released on a special 2-disc LP set in 2003)

Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison

Pink Floyd: Animals

Cassettes? I've got a few cassettes-

REM- Document

Sepultura- Beneath the Remains/Arise

Six Feet Under- Warpath

Chrysler Audio System 1989

Marilyn Manson- Smells Like Children

And I have yet to abandon the LP's spiritual successor, the CD, and 95% of my tunes are still "stored" in that manner, including:

Neil Young, Metallica, Death Angel, Pink Floyd, Pantera, Apocalyptica (from the cello Metallica covers era), Marilyn Manson, Blues Traveler, Depeche Mode, W.A.S.P., Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Nirvana, Candlebox, Slipknot, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Mudvayne, Guns n' Roses (still too afraid to check out Chinese Democracy), and others too numerous to mention.

NOT RECCOMMENDED LISTENING WHEN MODELING (OR HANDLING ANY SHARP OBJECTS):

Megadeth- Good Mourning/Black Friday

George Thorogood- Killer's Bluez

Anything by Slayer

Anything by Cannibal Corpse (the Chris Barnes era stuff in particular!)

Classical Music (ever subconciously started swinging that exacto like a conductor's baton? I have. That's why they call me "Left Eye")

Anything by Eminem

I personally avoid "Beach Boys" style music and '50's do-wop, because I've heard enough of this junk at 1:1 car shows to tide me over for three or four lifetimes.

Awesome list there Chuck. Good to see I'm not the only one that still prefers pops, hisses, and white noise. Did you get the vinyl version of QOTSA's "R". It's just titled "X". Bonus track is killer. If any of you guys get a chance check out Rodrigo y Gabriela it's sorta like flamenco music done my metalheads. They do an awesome version of Metallica's "Orion". Great stuff I think a lot of you guys would be into it.

When i'm working on models i've got to have my XM on the oldies channels from the 50's and 60's. Groups like Beach Boys, Jay and the Americans, Motown sounds and such. Takes me back to my childhood and puts me in the zone where I can work on and enjoy my models.
