This is my first big rig kit and I'm looking for some different ways to maybe build it. At first I thought I'd put a flatbed on it, but then I just could not find any 1:1 pictures of such, never seen one in dump truck style either, you guys got any ideas on something "different" ?

Thanks

You probably won't find many pictures of the Kenworth K100 Aerodyne as a straight truck. With that Aerodyne sleeper, it was marketed to long-haul truck drivers that usually haul vans, and such.

Now, that being said, you will probably find some pics of the K100 as a straight truck, but it probably will be a daycab (no sleeper).

This site is a good reference for trucks:

Here's a quick search for Kenworth K100:

Good luck. So you know, out of the box, the AMT K100 Aerodyne is abot a 1976-1980 (give or take).

Go to www.hankstruckpictures.com and do a search for Kenworth Aerodyne COE.

There are lots of idea pics there.

Thats what I had figured, the sleeper does make it diffucult to do much of anything else. Guess I'll just make it a long haul rig and search for a unique load.

Thanks for the replies and links. Will try to post some WIP shots when I get

over the years, revell issued some nice versions of this kit, which might give you some ideas - the australian tractor with the huge bullbar and spoke wheels and tone guard looks nice, as does the oriental express with the extra driving axle.

On another website somewhere was a guy who was planning a five axle , twin steer kenny, based (i think) on an alaskan tanker which was a straight truck towing a trailer - a huge project and the guy didn't seem to finish it??

sorry no pictures anywhere, but might give you some more dieas

Considering the length of the frame, the flat bed body is a great possibility for this truck. Click on the link to see what I'm talking about. The pic you're going to see isn't an aerodyne, but it is a KW cabover. Hopefully it helps with ideas.

Hi Robert, I was considering a similar project using the Revell K100, though I've changed my plans since then. Anyway, here are a couple of photos I dug up while I was looking for inspiration.
