Harold Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I just saw Randy Kern's sig with vthe Bugeye Sprite and was wondering if there's any Mk. IV series sprites in kit form...
elan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 (edited) I've never seen them in 1/24, 1/25 scale. I imagine you could find one in the smaller scales from overseas. You could find a MG Midget and kitbash it? I've seen Midgets in diecast. Edited July 14, 2009 by elan
Randy Kern Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Harold, the only plastic kit of the Mk 2-4 Sprites that I know of is the very simple, multi-piece body Lindberg version, that the box says is 1/32 scale, but is really closer to 1/28 scale. The early versions were even motorized (rubber band ). They've been re-issued over the years, but not too recently. Here are a couple that I built quite a while ago. As far as 1/24-1/25 scale, none exist that I know of. I've built some 1/43 scale white metal Bugeye kits made by K&R Replicas of England, and they also produce the Mk 2-4 Sprite kits in that scale. Hope this helps, or somebody else might know of others. Nice Sprite! Sadly, I'm getting ready to sell my 1/1 Bugeye.
Harold Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for the info, Randy. I'm selling my Sprite also.
