E St. Kruiser50 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Saw these new as a re-issue in a local hobby shop last week, so called them later and had them hold one for me. Probably pick it up this coming week. Just wondering if anyone has one yet and what they think. What kind of motor do they include with it?? Thanks guy's - dave
george 53 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Dave, my Bro, YES it's a REAL nice kit!!! Go head an get it, you WON'T be sorry! Nice detail, a Big Block Mopar(413) I think) AND a SLANT SIX,too!!!! You'll like it, great start for LOTSA cool street rides! 1
LoneWolf15 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Dave, I've built several of these , it is an excellent kit all the way around. It is right up there with the ' 66 Chevelle when it comes to the excellent detail and kit design . The AMT Pro Street Roadrunner chassis fits right underneath the interior and body like a glove , should you decide to go this route. I'd recommend it to everyone ! Donn Yost Lone Wolf Custom Painting
Bruno Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Lindberg's stock '64 Belvedere is a very nice, well detailed kit. It has 2 engine options, the 426 commando and the slant six. I built one using the roof (I prefer the sedan) and some other parts from the '64 dodge 330 ramchargers kit. Here's a pic of the kit I'm talking about and another pic of what I did with it.

That's the kit, and your rendition is very nice. I saw it earlier this week "Under Glass" I believe. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and feedback. It'll be fun picking it up and tearing into it to see everything I've been told about it. Can't ever remember finishing a CHRYSLER PRODUCT model, even thogh I have several, so I'm sure this one will probably break that streak. Thanks again guy's - dave

charlie8575 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I wonder if the wide-block 318 in the '58 Plymouth will mate to the \6 transmission? I think they're the same externally. Charlie Larkin
george 53 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Charlie, It's only plastic,Bro, MAKE it fit!!!!
noname Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Are the Dodge 330 kits just as good as this one?
george 53 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Yep, cut from the same cloth!!! Great kits too!
noname Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Thanks, I assumed it was and I like the 330 because it is a 2 door post. Wish they made more of them...along with 4 doors and wagons....
BigGary Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Thanks, I assumed it was and I like the 330 because it is a 2 door post. Wish they made more of them...along with 4 doors and wagons.... I thought my idea to swap the tops between the Dodge 330 and the Belvedere was an original one. Looks like Bruno beat me to it. I had a 1:1 '64 Dodge 440 2 dr. hardtop and I want to build it. I now have both kits. I was a lot more impressed with the '64 than with the L700 kit I got. I've come up with several ideas for the /6 engine in these kits. Gary
Casey Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Looks like the (originally Lindberg) '64 Plymouth Belvedere is being reissued in 2020. Pic courtesy of Luc's Nurnberg Toy Show pics:

Joe Handley Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 What’s the difference between the regular and Petty Belvedere kits?
SfanGoch Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 (edited) The Petty Belvedere doesn't have stock parts or the Slant Six engine. Edited March 8, 2020 by SfanGoch
espo Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 One thing I noticed about the "Petty Plymouth" when it was first issued had to do with the interior panels. On one side it had a sheet metal type panel that you would find in a race car, and if you flipped them over the other side has the normal passenger car interior panels. At that time we didn't actually know if they were going to offer a stock street car. A few months later they offered the street car with an engine that could be a 361, 383 or a 426 edge. The only Slant 6 that I recall, not that there might be others, was in the Lindberg '64 Dodge 330 two door kit. The kit had an option of the 6 or what they were calling a 383 V8. That kits Slant 6 is a very nicely done engine if someone is wanting to build one.
Mike999 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 (edited) There are some differences in the Lindberg '64 Mopar kits, if you're looking at them on eBay or sealed at a swap meet. Some of the boxes say non-helpful stuff like "detailed engine and interior." Engines: the '64 Dodge "Maverick" and "Ramcharger" kits have Hemis. The "Color Me Gone" kit has a Wedge engine. The stock '64 Dodge (blue car on box) has a "383" Wedge plus that nice Slant 6 in the box. The original issue of the '64 Plymouth Belvedere had both engines, just like the latest re-issue. Interiors: the "Color Me Gone" and stock '64 Dodges have bench seats. "Maverick" and "Ramcharger" have bucket seats, and so does the '64 Plymouth. According to various Mopar experts on this forum, that means the Plymouth can't be built 100% stock. Belvederes didn't have bucket seats, those were reserved for the high-end Fury and Sport Fury. Though I guess we could always use the "special order" work-around. Drag cars often had the factory front seats replaced with the lightweight seats from the A100 truck. We can steal those from a Lindberg Little Red Wagon kit. Edited March 9, 2020 by Mike999 goof 1
57peppershaker Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Thanks for the info Mike. I have the Maverick, Colour me Gone, Ramcharger and Petty Plymouth kits but havent looked that close at the parts trees as they are still boxed.
