Honda Civic EJ8

This'll be a future project, Revell Honda Civic coupe.

I'll use the stock front and custom rear bumpers. Grille ground out with a dremel.

SMS carbon fiber on hood.

Wheels are two pairs of front Aoshima Volk Mesh and tires are Pegasus lowrider tires, wanted a JDM style wheels with stretchwall tires.

i think your choice of rolling stock looks much more german then JDM

just my 2 cents though

the carbon fibre looks really good on the hood

how will the paint be ?

pearl white with no striping right ?

i wouldve flipped them black wall side out. i was planning on casting more S/W tires but havent been in the mood to do so

nothing set for paint and the hood needs to be cleared. As for the wheels, its a nostalgic style. Old JDM wheels

all im saying is it reminds me of the early generation BBS wheels as were standard and several VW models and the stretching of the tires seems a LOT mroe common in that scene then in the japanese

but then again, i really dont care for theJDM so i could be mistaken

color will Tamiya Camel Yellow with a medium tan and dark red interior

wheels stripped and sprayed with Tamiya Silver leaf

engine block and transmission painted

Nice looking bit of work so far. I dig the rims and hood. Ever thought of chopping the roof? IMVHO some tuners could benifit from a roof chop, to me they look out of scale dropped without being chopped. Either way your doing nice work.

This build is on hiatis while I wait for replacement parts from Revell, in the spare time I'll trying different body mods with the old body.

Looks like it will be a nice project, I have a friend who has 3 of these civics in real life, all running and big award winners in lots of competitions.

a few updates

got rid of the badge from the upper grille, if you don't know its a Honda I feel sad for you

engine still needs some work, exhaust will be blued, intake to be detailed, and then add plug wires

exhaust system to be replaced with aluminium tube from the y-pipe back and maybe a Fujimi muffler

some aero mirrors for a more JDM feel, from one of my Aoshima kits

I see those wheels a lot on dubs.. I REAAAALLLLLY would like a custom painted set.. black lips with the red mesh for the 1:1 I'm about to bring home
